Local Mega Gun Store (LMGS) had case lot quantities of 7.62x39 in all the normal flavors (Wolf, Tula, etc). Same for steel cased .223 and other calibers. Only thing unusual is they had the same "not quite gouging but a bit high" pricing they have on everything.

Powder is a different issue, still very hard to get at most local stores. Comes in regularly, just sells out immediately. People buying powder they would not normally use just to have some. (Like the .22 hoarders do)

If you come across powder, and you don't already have enough to get you through at least 2 years of shooting at your current levels, you should be buying.

Powder sales are very likely to dry up, most likely in a manner more like .22 sales than anything else. Some parts of the country are starting to see it already. I was in a Cabelas a month ago, and they had a TOTAL of 3 pounds of powder. When I asked, they said that they had lots on order, but weren't getting regular shipments.

It really varies from store to store, and no store manager or owner I've talked to has any real reason. To them, its just is what it is.

But a word to the wise, BUY POWDER if you can!
