Grendel Barrel Makers

I am considering making another Grendel and was wondering if anyone has a list of barrel makers that make so called grendel barrels. If I build another Grendel I want to be able to ensure I get a Grendel not some other hacked out wanna be Grendel. If no such a list exists no big deal I will just have to spend more time on the research. I have asked for this information on another site but ended up with more defensive answers and no barrel makers.

Nor is it likely that list will ever be posted. PTG will claim customer confidentiality, and decline to further elaborate ("just trust him"). I am at a loss as to how he got such a sizable burr under his saddle, since he had the opportunity to address the questions so many asked, before it escalated. I suppose, though, that we don't know what was actually said to him, since it was probably second or third hand information relayed to him through a non-objective party.

I can tell you with 100% confidence that Lilja and PF will be able to provide the real deal. More, I am certain, are available. Just not off the top of my head.

Under what circumstances, if you don't mind me asking, did you get reinstated on the other site? I was under the impression you'd been banned.

AR manufactures does not state nor imply barrel makers. It's one thing to misread something, it is another to misstate it with. " was wondering if anyone has a list of the phantom 27 barrel makers that have been referred to in posts on this site and another".

I bought into the Alexander Arms compound throat, and have a healthy sum invested to include working with a cast bullet designer to design a mold that will create cast bullets that will provide similar performance as the 123gr AMAX at shorter ranges, why you ask......... because I can. I don't want some butchered throat that was not considered when I started my Grendel quest. Now I suppose I will be burned at the stake for shooting cast bullets through an AR.

Any barrel maker or smith that will order a SAAMI Grendel reamer and inspect the reamer before letting it touch blanks. You would think that would be standard protocol anyway.

Just realize they are trying to sow dissent amongst our ranks. PTG, Satern, and maybe others have an axe to grind with AA and would be happy to see the Grendel discredited.

They are playing word games as part of creating dissent. PTG has allegedly said 27 makers using "Grendel II" or LBC...that could mean 26 LBC and 1 "Grendel II"...LOL.

I also was unbanned...weird, cause I thought it was permanent and I didn't ask to be unbanned and had no communication with anyone there during my ban. I'm content here...

That assumption is a fair one. PTG is in the business of supplying reamers. Why would they supply a reamer to someone that does not make barrels? Then how would they have intimate knowledge of companies they do not do business with? Therefore, then is it not a valid assumption that PTG would only speak knowledgeably about barrel makers? Assuming that quote actually came from PTG and isn't a made up character by XCR on his forum.

It's spilled over to AR15.com as well, but so many people have clicked the "ignore" button for XCR in the past, that it doesn't even register.

He caused a stir over there with the "Haters gonna hate 5R rifling produces faster velocities thread", not realizing that it was his short throat in the Liberty barrel.

He's now resorted to doing google searches on "Grendel stuck", and posting the hits. Sad thing is that most of the hits brought up Satern or Liberty barrels, I kid you not, even dating back to after Satern announced that they would no longer be making Grendel barrels, and that the "Grendel would probably suffer because of it". What I find childish is the level adults my senior by decades will go to in acting like petty toddlers over this.

Customers should be insulated from your mistakes, and when it affects them, deal with it quickly and make the customer happy. To hold a grudge against a former business customer who you parted ways with, then set out to smear their name using your position in the industry just reeks of immaturity.

As far as getting unbanned without asking, bjornF16, consider the possibility that in order to continue his argument, he need the opposing point of view to belittle. Without that, he sounds like a fool beating a drum. He probably wants your posts to serve as a foil to his tirades.

That, and he might also need you to boost his active membership #'s. When I looked at the site, earlier last week, I noticed that he had personally posted nearly half the board's total. That makes him almost 50% of the noise.

ETA: Just wanted to verify my info, so I rechecked. At this point, XCR has 198 of the 375 posts on that board. That puts the Signal to Noise Ratio at about 1:1. I also found it ironic that he was blasting bwaites for allowing his real name to be posted on this board, when he actually has it listed in the clear, within his boards online profile. A real piece of work, that one. But now I feel so... dirty. I need a shower.
