A Tale of Two Companies or Larue is awesome, Fortis sucks

Ok so our tale begins with two packages, both ordered a few days ago in a far off land named Florida. One package was from Larue and the total was $229.98 the other from Palmetto State Armory that totaled $349.88.

The Larue order was placed as 1 QD mount and 1 Tshirt. What I received was a mount, a shirt, a hat, Dillon dust, a DVD (10th annual sniper competition) 2 stickers, 3 pocket versions of the greatest document ever written (The Constitution) a group measuring ruler, a beverage opener and they didn't even charge shipping.

The Palmetto State Armory order was placed as 1 12" Fortis rail in FDE, 1 BCG, 3 cotter pins, 2 ejection port covers and 1 Hornady 6.5 GRENDEL modified case. What was received was as expected except the $246.95 I paid for the rail got me a rail crammed in a cardboard tube with the emblems all screwed up , one of the screws cross threaded and no directions or original packaging from the rail or literature. Not even a palmetto State Armory sticker or a note telling me to screw off.

I have spent exactly $229.98 with Larue Tactical. I have spent over $5000 with Palmetto State Armory in the last month, including 25 Lowers and 25 Uppers yesterday.

Guess who's going getting my business in the future? I know they are different kinds of businesses with different target customers but they should be at least close....

Has anyone bought a Fortis rail so I can see what I didn't get with mine?

Every time I've ordered items from Larue there has always been extra goodies in the box.

that is always true with larue tactical. you get extra goodies from them with your order. what you get depends on how much you spend.

Yep, Larue is in a whole other league with respect to shipping and free shwag (and customer service). I called them the other day to order a set of 30mm rings for an existing mount, got directed immediately to a sales rep, and was able to order my intended product in record time over the phone with a few key words to pull up my profile.

Larue is very good at customer service. You wouldn't think some hats, meat spices, armadillo can openers, and stickers, could make a difference but it does. When I have called them they were very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of companies that could learn a lesson from them.

Mark Larue's dedication to the Second Amendment is unequaled in the business as well. I have been waiting for him to say that he's going to stop selling to Law Enforcement on California the same way others have though.... I really think that the group that came up with that is on to something.

Really though if anyone has a Fortis Rev please chime in, mine looks like crap and came with literally no information...I looked up online that the guard just clamps on to a factory nut...I guess I should have looked that up before I bought it. I don't think I would have bought it if I saw that. Its really light, looks like CNC Art and has keymod spots on it but the CeraKote looks like crap. I guess i'll put it on my lightweight hunting rig for stalking pigs. A cmore sight with a 14.5" pencil 300AAC barrel would make that thing fly through ham like a Canadian.

Larue's shop is about 5 minutes from my house. It's good they don't have a walk in store- I'd be broke.

Have you called PSA? I've had good experiences with them also.

Going to call them tomorrow... going to buy class3 stuff in the morning. Had to wait for legal stuff to get finished.

He has refused to sell anything to LE in any state that a regular joe cannot buy. That's been his policy for just a hair over a year. =)
