Hey guys,
I'm planning on buying a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 the next time I can find a discount somewhere, but I'm not quite sure which mount I should use. It will be going on top of a Mega billet side charge upper, if that matters. Anyone with any suggestions or tidbits of knowledge, feel free to enlighten me!

I put a Larue lt-745 in 20moa on mine. It gets me out to just a little over 1000 on the elevation dial. I have yet to shot the grendel that far, but I bought the mount after I ran out of elevation trying to shoot at 750.

+ 10 on the aadmount, I have it on my 6-24 pst it is a bullet proof mount.

Love my Larue mounts.....I have two of the LT158's, which have 10 MOA built in.

I've almost pulled the trigger on one a couple times. I'd like to try one, just can't justify it a the moment. AAD makes good stuff. I've never seen a bad review.

If you are getting a scope with that high of a magnification, you will want the +20 MOA the AADMOUNT gives. Plus it has a bubble level built in to the base. Then if you want to change out the scope with a lower power but still have the option of putting the higher power back on, it is repeatable to 0.5 MOA or your money back.

My experience with LaRue is the zero never deviates more than about 1cm@100M (0.4MOA) when taking them off and on.
I don't have any experience with AADMOUNT however like the idea of having a built-in bubble. Those triple cross bars seems a bit like wishful thinking given the assumption is they line-up perfectly (with macroscopic contact) with the cross-grooves on every customers' Pickitinny. I'm thinking only one will be making proper contact while the other two will have minute gaps. Any gap and they may as well not be there.
Given the precision of the LaRue's I don't think the AADMount extra screws and cross bars are needed, certainly not on a Grendel. But they would give you peace of mind.
Another top-end 7075 T6 cantilever unimount that does not get a lot of attention is the Swedish SPUHR. It has a built-in bubble and self-leveling system. Looks very nice but at $450USD (Brownells) it's way out of my price bracket.

I had a lt104 on my grendel and ran out of elevation adjustment trying to get to 750. I had to dial back and hold. I ordered the lt745 on a Saturday and received it that Tuesday. I took the scope out, mounted it in the new mount, and stuck it on the rifle. I made a 20 moa adjustment to the elevation knob and shot it. It was dead on windage. It surprises me to have two mounts made 2 years apart and my windage didn't change at all.

Well guys, I ended up going with the AAD mount. Thanks for all the input. All my parts are in except for the scope and mount, and my upper is at the shop being bedded and such (I don't have a vise). Here's a picture of the half-way assembled Grendel.
