I know I'm not the most active user on here, but I've been here a long time. This is one of the few gun forums I participate in.
I know you guys aren't aware, but I've been working on scope bases for Savage rifles. I thought I would share a link. Maybe you guys can let me know what you think of the website/part, etc.

Mount looks pretty good. I like the way it blends into a mount from the barrel instead of just sitting on top.

You know, I don't know. I haven't thought about it. Right now they are being sold through Pacific Tool and Gauge. But if you guys want some, then I'm sure we could probably work out something like that. Right now PTG has them priced at 99.
I appreciate the kind words regarding the part. These are machined from 6061t6 billet. they fit the Savage 10,12, Target, and Steven's 200 actions. We try to pay attention to the details. The front screw, for instance, is counter sunk slightly less to accommodate the Larger shank of the Target action, and we have a shallow channel running down the underside to reduce the chances of any kind of high centering around the screw holes due to any burs or imperfections in the receiver.
There has been really good feed back from the guys at my club. They seem to really like them. PTG has had nice things to say too, and tells me that their feedback has been pretty good as well.

I was kidding of course, but I seriously have a couple of Savage projects I am working on right now and if you can sell them directly and cut the middle man out and you get more and we pay less... hey...why not (unless PTG folk are on here too lol)?

Is there any chance you would make them without a cant? I already have an AADMOUNT that is canted 20 and 40 seems like rather a lot. : )

Well, I've had brief discussions about a straight model, at least very limited production of one. No such thing is in the works currently though. I couldn't promise anything there in terms of a time frame either. And yeah, 40 minutes would likely be too much.
If any of you guys order any, I would love to know what you think of them.
traditionally I have used EGW, how are these different? not in the semantics of it but the end result? I'm not downing on your product, quite the opposite, I own quite a few Savages and build them for friends. I always ask myself, how much more do I get for my money...

I can't comment on EGW.
My bases are machined from 6061 T6 billet, by either my brother, father, or me, here in Arkansas. We designed the part to be wide, with a large contact area. The rail is a true to spec picatinny rail. It has attractive curves, compatible with right or left ejection ports, large or small barrel shanks. It's been tested on Stevens actions, the model 10, 12, target actions, and it appears that it would fit any short action axis as well. We machined a channel down the center of the under side to allow clearance for any burs around screw holes that might cause high centering. The part is type 2 anodized here locally, in Arkansas. I use the part, and the guys at my club use the part, and everyone loves them. Otherwise, it's a 20 moa scope base. We just try to make it the best scope base we can.
