I think you're closer to the actual figure. I made a slight error when estimating LOP at ~13.5". It should've been ~14" to middle of the butt, ~14.5" to heel of the butt.

Looks like the forward progress was stopped by the previous case. Just need to tip the barrel down to fully extract the case… or just keep firing...

I do not think the case was stuck. The next shot fired would have tossed both out.
My FS2000 will hold 4 fired cases in the ejection tube before dumping them if you close the ejection port door.
Looks interesting. I think since it will be made in 7.62x39 it would be pretty easy for them to make some Grendel barrels if they got requests for them.
Just have to wait and see when it actually goes into production and the real price.

My thought, exactly! However, in view of their projected release date (sometime in 2015), there's ample time for them to get "educated".

Overall, it's clear that they've done their homework, from a Bullpup'ers point of view.

Maybe. Maybe not. We can't tell from the video since the shooter grasped the stuck case and pulled it out, instead of just firing the next round.

The US has been selling F-16's to Pakistan for decades, in addition to scores of other military hardware. The first things the Paki's did with our F-16's was equip them to deliver nukes provided by China, which resulted in the Reagan Administration cutting off defense trade with Pakistan.

When the CIA ramped up their covert war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, the Paki's said they were totally willing to help, but they needed the embargo lifted, and they no longer wanted first generation F-16A/B's anymore, they wanted the latest F-16C. Currently, we have been selling them one of the most advanced F-16C/D Block 52 suites that is really a different plane in so many ways compared to the 1980's.

Since Pakistan has sea ports and roads that lead to Afghanistan, they hold the cards when dealing with the US and our need to get war materials through the Hindu Kush mountains into land-locked Afghanistan.

As to the DTA, I think this is an example of social responsibility demonstrated by a company that was in a position to profit significantly from the move. Pakistan doesn't really buy anything from the US, rather they use Foreign Military Aid provided by the US to purchase products exclusively from the US as part of the deal. Everyone in D.C. is happy as there is plenty of money to be spread around, and the State Department couldn't care less. Congress rains money on the districts that manufacture the advanced technology, and everyone goes home fat and happy.

Actually, Reagan did not invoke the Pressler Amendment in 1987. It wasn't until after the Russkies left Afghanistan that exports were halted to Pakistan in 1990 by Bush 41.

I don't think PRC delivered working nukes, but some fissile material and plans for a simple bomb. IIRC, it wasn't until late 90's that they finally detonated a bomb. I don't believe there was ever a working bomb for aircraft in the 80's.

A bunch of us should write similar letters as well.
As much as I would love a DT weapon in either the bolt action or MDR, I'll probably never be able to get one unless I unload some other guns which isn't likely for some time. So having them make a Grendel version won't effect me at all.

However, it will affect us if we push and begin seeing big name manufacturers building a 6.5 Grendel rifle and bring more attention to the round and it's capabilities. Once somebody does just a little bit digging like I did last year they will see the capabilities and instantly love the round. Especially if you are wanting to start doing some distance shooting. The same AR-15 platform can be used. This is very appealing.

But the more gun makers putting a 6.5 Grendel weapon on the market the better it is for all of us.

I'm excited to see the Grendel offered in the MDR. It looks like this could be the answer to the need for an AR12 for the Grendel. That is if they utilize the .308 components for the Grendel.
