I considered both as well. I went with the ACS- L.
I think it looks better. The Vltor is too busy. The ACS-L is more streamlined. I liked how the ACS-L felt on my cheek better.
I am not a fan of the sling slot on top of the cheek rest of the Vltor.
I got the ACS-L on a 15% off Black Friday sale from Precision Firearms.
Also, I think the ACS-L will work with a rear bad much better than the Vltor.

I have one on my Beowulf and it completely changes the characteristics of the big bore. Makes it very shootable, even for those who are light and small.

I've owned both, and suggest the LMT or B5 SOPMOD instead, especially if the best cheekweld is your primary determining factor.
And a nice addition to the SOPMOD is a monopod adapter from Battleline Industries:

Even if you don't plan to use a monopod, the device adds stability at the bench.

I bought the Mako GL also with the adjustable cheek riser. Didn't realize it was recoil reducing until I got home with it. I wanted the adjustable cheek riser to help with positioning the scope properly.

Another vote for the ACS-L. It works on a rear bag well enough and I'm a big fan of the friction lock feature.
