There are very few carbines that use a gas system in 9mm, as it's usually a blowback system.

These current Tavors are set up for 5.56 NATO, with crazy dwell time.

9mm Tavor kit is blowback and are starting to be available.

Should be lot of fun and quiet with can.

They haven't got 300BLK out yet because hard to get 40,000 rounds for testing from what I've read.

Barrel wrench comes with kit and you can change out yourself.

Having used the L85A1 from it's in service date until 2001. I can't say that it's trigger was any worse than the wpn it replaced. Its no match for any No4 or my SMLE. I suppose you would get used to it.

I looked at an IDF model Tavor and I thought the trigger reminded me of a Glock. You have take up and then the trigger broke clean. The reset seemed similar to a Glock with a 5.5 connector. I have no idea how much this Tavor had been dry fired at the gun shop. To me the Tavor trigger pull weight felt comparable to a Standard AR trigger. I know dry firing in the store is different than shooting on the range.

From reading about the Tavor some people say the trigger is not to bad others say it's terrible. I have no idea if triggers vary from gun to gun or this is do personal perceptions. The ergo's for the Tavor is different and does not have the familiar cheek weld of my AR-15's. Not bad ergo's just different. I still would like to shoot a Tavor on the range and wring it out.

Did the L85A1 run well.

Read something about them not working so good when first used in combat and needed to be improved by HK.

The L85A2 is said to be much improved and compares well with other rifles including the AR.

I will say it had it's moments, for example on patrol in NI you had to check that the mag had not dropped off. A very exposed mag release (the fix attach a raised spacer). I personally had no issues with mine during the time I carried one. The guys have very few bad things to say about the A2.

I'll talk about Australia, and the UK as two interesting studies.

The Australian SAS, which is highly regarded among their foreign coalition SOF peers, produces a very high caliber of soldier, with a grueling selection and training program fueled by the moon surface-like terrain of the continent. The Australian Defence Forces standrad issue F88 Austeyr is a licensed manufacture Steyr AUG. The Australian SAS chooses to carry......M4A1.

British SAS: One of the original users of the Colt Model 601 AR15 back when the L1A1 was still a standard service rifle for the UK. As soon as the commando variants started becoming available, the SAS began using them, in addition to AR15's with M203's. The Diemeco variants have been in use for quite some time.

British SBS: Same story. They are particularly fond of the Colt Commando variants.

France is currently looking for a replacement for the colossal disaster known as the FAMAS. Imagine firing 5.56 without a locking mechanism, and you have the FAMAS.

I'm a big fan of the bullpup in concept, but I have yet to see all its challenges conquered, while providing common features that professional soldiers expect in an infantry shoulder-fired arm.

I was wondering if you have heard anything on the performance of the Chinese QBZ-95 rifle firing the 5.8X42 round. It is supposedly have been used in the Sir Lankan war and the Thai- Cambodian dispute?

Peek at the OP Kel-Tec rifles closer to production, at 2:40 Kel-Tec rep claims they have working 6.5 Grendel prototype. RDB actually doesn't look terrible, m43 pretty ugly, both just IMO of course. Could be an interesting range toy.
