Bolt Group Buy - Possible?

Sounds like about 2 weeks. Lilja won't have barrels for 3 or 4 more weeks so all should be good. Christmas will be grand...

i have 3 bcg's i sent to wmd guns to get nib coated and they all work fine in addition to easy clean up and being able to use a lot less lube..you could simply send them your bolt if you want..

All you guys are asking is an awful lot right off the bat. This is the first set of bolts and there are a lot of people who need them. I imagine there will be a limited amount per person and if there is the demand, as it seems there is, they will need to make another batch.

Placing requests for 5 here and 6 there, extra extractors and so on is fictitious dreaming when there are only 250 bolts made, maybe they will run more once these come out. This started out as lets see how they go and fill the order for the Lilja Barrel Group Buy.

If the demand is so high, they will probably run 1,000 and if I read into as I do, I would be gearing up for at least that many. Now think of how much money he has put up front to just make 250? Multiply that by 4 and if they didn't sell leave that money sitting on the shelf. I don't think there is $50,000 floating around in everyone's wallets.

+1 Although this tread was started by Cory who started the Lilja group buy thread, I didn't get the impression that the discussion for the group bolt buy was exclusively for "them". XCR also has many onboard for the Liberty group buy and they/we are also interested in bolts/BCG's for our builds. It appears more and more likely that Precision Firearms may need to limit purchases of the bolts so that as many buyers as possible can be happy. Not 50 buyers who want 5 bolts each. JMHO.

I need 6 bolts as well. Not sure if this is the formal place to tally the numbers, as there has been a very high noise-to-signal ratio in this thread.

I think this is correct and I think once everyone has there's then another batch will be made for whoever buys them. I don't even know if the ones for Satern are even turned, different subject completely. The ones for PF are just coming out of heat treat and getting finished. Extractors and assembly still need done. I think we'll have them when the Lilja Barrels are ready. It takes time for bolt fabrication just like it does for barrels. Be patient and the Liberty deal is something totally different from PF. If Maxim, PF and Satern do a deal, that has nothing to do with us.

Satern getting bolts for there products is a different subject. Does anyone know what Satern ordered? I bet no one has seen there contracts with there vendors. All sounds good but a company purchase is not forum knowledge. Yes they might want to use Maxim but I haven't seen a contract so who really knows. Hear say.

The barrel buy from Satern with Liberty barrels is not using Maxxim bolts. There other distributer is providing the bolts for the Liberty buy because they are being finished sooner. I'm told Satern will have the bolts for the liberty barrels the Monday after thanksgiving. I asked them not to wait on the Maxxim bolts but to use what comes in first. One of the barrels is for a gift for a soldier returning from Afghanistan and so we didn't want to wait.

I hope that is not the case. While it is true the Liberty barrels comes with their own bolt as a package, there are other builders with Lilja and others barrels who need an initial bolt, or a backup, and not to flip 5 or 6 for a profit.

Would it be possible if you noted you wanted a maxim bolt on your Lilja order sheet, that a bolt be reserved for you. I would hate to see someone that is not on here too often that ordered a barrel miss out on their bolt because they weren't informed they were available and the bolts sold out in the first 24 hours.

Its not open its not closed and nobody is taking orders.

They will start a trend when available and he will watch address when he ships them out, cheaters might not get anything....thats the way i would do it but again, who knows he might keep them for himself and horde them....

So, the bottom line is that this thread was only for checking the pulse for a group buy, but nothing else. Asking to put one's name on a non-existent list is a colossal waste of time, at this point. Having read most of the 30 pages (to this point) over the last few weeks, it is easy to see that there is a need/want for Grendel bolts, but does that come as a surprise to anyone? I wouldn't think so.

My take away on all this is that 1) There is no group buy, and never was. 2) People still need bolts for their various projects. 3) Someone is making bolts, but there is no direct path to getting in line.

Is that about it?

It seems to me that if you want a bolt, just order one from Les Baer Custom. At least he's shipping the things on a fairly regular basis.
