Poll for gauging interest in batch order of Forbes bolt action rifle in 6.5 G

This is a post to see what sort of demand there would be and at what price point, for a Forbes Rifle LLC Model 20 short (analogous to a New Ultralight Arms [NULA] model 20 short). I do not work for the company and am a 3rd party.

If there are a minimum of 30 interested parties, this can move to the next step. As some of you may know, a NULA 20S action facsimile is not currently offered by FR LLC (just the 24B which is 30-06 length, and 20B which is .308 length), but with enough on one order, it may have a chance. This is a longshot, but I think worth it.

Please vote and then post what the closest to the MAP of $1399 you would be willing to pay. This model may be a no go due to the price point, no matter how good the rifle may be. It's still $2100 less than a NULA Custom shop rifle, even at MSRP.

weight: unscoped, ~4.75 lbs.

action: 20 ounces, blue-printed, scaled to .223 class cartridges, PPC bolt face, 2.5" mag length, 3 or 4+1 BDL, as per NULA 20S

trigger: Timney Forbes designed, adjustable for weight/overtravel, direct two position, three function (allowing bolt to be locked, but openable on safe as per NULA)

barrel:
ER Shaw, 4140 CrMo, 21-22", 1:8 twist, 6 grooves/lands, button rifled, sporter crown, #2 standard profile (profile *might* be changeable to the light profile, but likely only for the whole batch). I haven't asked but if a separate batch of barrels is sourced that we all want (Pac-Nor, McGowen, etc), those may be able to sub for the Shaw, though it would have to be virtually the exact same exterior dimensions due to the bedding system.

action/bbl finish, non reflective/matte

stock:
-supplied by NULA to Forbes Rifles LLC
-material hand laid carbon fiber
-barrel full length bedded as per NULA rifles
-LOP: 13.375" (probably can be changed, but would likely have to be same for the whole order )
-comb to bore: .925
-color choices not a problem for individual rifles in the order, ie olive, A-Tacs, etc

After doing some research on Forbes and NULA, I think this is an excellent opportunity for the company and shooters looking for a lightweight, quality bolt action Grendel.

This market is open for the taking right now, so whoever jumps on it first for a production Grendel bolt gun is set to make a lot of money I think. This type of stock is an excellent match for the Grendel, since recoil really isn't a big consideration with the Grendel, yet performance is comparable to many short-action cartridges that would otherwise present a recoil sensitivity barrier to many shooters.

I would prefer a barrel from Pac-Nor or Shilen, but if the ER Shaw barrels were cherry-picked for bore uniformity, with accompanying test targets demonstrating 3/4 MOA or better. At this price point, I would really like some type of accuracy standard less than 1 MOA. I do realize that prices have risen significantly in that regard, and most custom bolt rifles that are hunters run about 2-3x the suggested price in the OP.

I'd be in at $1200-1300, but would like to see a better barrel (Saturn, Krieger, Douglas, etc.) I know that would drive the priced up, but well worth the money.

The Shaw barrel make it a no go for me. They make some great shooting barrels some that are so/so and some that are just no/go.

I've never heard of the company. Never seen one of these rifles, much less held one. like everyone else, barrels are of concern.If hunting accurate, I'll make $1600 my price max

To me, it makes sense to match a nice CNC-machined action and high quality custom lightweight stock with a barrel that is of equal repute and performance expectations.

In essence, the proposition in current form is this:

Take a custom vehicle chassis, made with advanced manufacturing techniques to bring down cost while maintaining quality, match it with an exclusive composite body, throw in an amazing performance-grade racing transmission...then drop in an engine off the manufacturing line for an economy sedan made for the barely above poverty market?

Considering the trends in our economy, maybe they are onto something, sadly.

After reading some internet accuracy reports, everyone says they shoot .5-.75 moa, depending on the bullet/load. So I ask "in a hunting rifle,who cares what barrel is on it if it shoots well?"

I'd go about $1100.00 if it doesn't come with a Shaw barrel. Shaw barrels are ok but If I'm spending that kind of money I want a better barrel.
