The Zimmerman case starts on Monday. So far this week the Judge has ruled that none of Martins public record can be used to show anything other than he was a sweet kid. No pics with guns off of you tube, no pics of gang symbols, no showing his arrest record or suspension record from school. No history of possession of stolen property or drug use.
Today the Judge ruled that none of Zimmermans witnesses can testify "confidentially". Apparently 6 of them have recieved death threats if they testify, according to the local Fox news at 11PM.
Sure looks like the deck is getting stacked.

Let the witch hunt commence....
There is a fine line. Between assault and aggravated assault with intent to do bodily harm.
"IF" what George Zimmerman says and can prove to be true.
Assault - you initiate and get into a fist fight with another person.
Aggravated Assault - you use a weapon during a fight. Aka Pounding another persons head into the pavement.
If George's attorney can prove or show/demonstrate that Trayvon did indead smash Georges head into the pavement, even one time, that is aggravated assault and in defense it is legal IMO to use deadly force. Age and size difference's don't matter in these cases. If it was a 3' tall midget that weighed 65lbs. doesn't matter. Aggravated assault is what it is. There aren't any age, size, sex, or color rules that apply.
As a CHL holder in Texas, if I saw someone getting pounded on the ground and they were smashing someone else's head into the pavement or had another weapon to a person I could take a shot if that was the only way to end the assault.
To me this should be an easy black and white case. (No pun intended)
Either his head was smashed into the pavement or it wasn't. If it was he should be a free man. If it wasn't then yeah, you go to jail.

I don't think it's quite that simple. First off Zimmerman had every right to patrol his neighborhood and carry while doing so.
If someone reaches for my weapon, at any time, I'm assuming they mean to shoot me with it, which puts my life in imminent danger. In that scenario I'm going to defend myself accordingly, as Zimmerman has claimed he did.
That being said it's not Zimmerman's responsibility to prove his innocence, but the responsibility of the state to prove Zimmerman's guilt. From what I've seen the only evidence the state has that it wasn't self defense is public opinion and a statement by the traitor in chief.

I'm Not Disagreeing With You At All. I Believe That Zimmermann Was Acting In Self Defense.
According To The Timeline As I Remember It. zimmerman's Head Was Smashed Prior To Tryvon Reaching For His Gun. At That Point He Is Justified In The Use Of Deadly Force. Whether Or Not Trayvon Reached For His Gun Or Not Is Irrelevant. At That Point.

I think the tricky issue that the defense has to worry about is if GZ initiated the contact, why he didn't listen to the operator, and that he was seeking confrontation. I think he is innocent and I don't fault him at all. Hopefully the fact that the state went for the highest charge, it will work to his benefit. I think the state will have a hard time with this.
The really bad part about the judge not allowing the history of TM to be used, is that the uninformed public will still see him as a nice little kid in the white hoodie, getting candy for his brother.
Does this mean the history of GZ can't be used?

I am wondering if Zimmerman did do as the 911 operator suggested and was in the process of leaving the area when Martin jumped him.

I think GZ has made statement that he attempted to leave when the operator told him to do so. At that point, if he did attempt to leave he would no longer even possibly be considered the "aggressor". There are pics of him with several cuts on his scalp from head being beaten on the concrete, and what appears to be a broken nose. I don't know if he's innocent or guilty. Just hoping he can get a fair and impartial trial with all the media circus including the POTUS laying in on the case.

The prosecution is being allowed to use "evidence" including job applications for LEO at several different places, including Washington DC, his local PD, and other LE agencies.

To Me The Initiation Of The Contact Is Irrelevant. The Line Was Crossed When TM Hour Ontop Of GZ And Started To Pound His Head Into The Pavement. It Doesn't Matter Who Started The Fight It Only Matters How It Ended And Why It Ended That Way.

Kikn, I agree with you and I think GZ is ok on this. Hypothetically, if GZ went after and attacked TM and then TM turned the tables on him and started pounding his head on the concrete and GZ shot him then, I think it would be a much harder case for GZ.
It's amazing how none of the pictures showing the gash on the back of his head or nose were shown until after the public and media opinions were formed and the topic was on the back burner.
What is concerning me (selfishly), is when I saw someone in my inner-city Tampa neighborhood grocery store wearing a "We'll Never Forget TVM" t-shirt with a picture of an innocent looking TVM youth.
While I have an opinion of the way I think (by law) the trial outcome should go, I'm nervous for what could happen next. I'm re-reading James Wesley Rawles just in case.

The whole case is an example of propaganda over fact. Back when it all started shaking out, I mentioned to my ex (rabid leftie-- who knew?) what the kid really looked like, she went off like a crate of Chinese fireworks, insisting that all of those were faked by racist Republican teabaggers.
When I think of what might happen should that sort of mindless and violent mentality come up against a verdict they don't like, I'm glad that I'm a couple of thousand miles away these days.

Not to hijack the thread, But the rosey loving liberals I run into, Really seem to have a emotional violent side. And there seems to be more and more of them all the time.

Push back. The left is only violent when they can be anonymous within a large group. Just taunt them, call them kooks and freaks. Push them hard, make them use violent so that you are the victim thus have the right to fight back. Have witnesses if possible. And good lawyers.
Basically they are feeling self righteous and superior. Most have mental health issues.

Yep you nailed that
This case has been about perception from the start. Remember that they spent a month prepping it before going national with the templated story. There's no way you can have an honest guilty verdict in this case. There shouldn't even be a prosecution or charges based on the facts, but that doesn't matter. Someone wants massive civil unrest based on racial hatred of whites- who aren't even demographically represented in this case.
Zimmerman is of Hispanic and even distant Negro heritage, and volunteered with his wife to help little fatherless black children in the inner city by tutoring them. The only way he will be found guilty is by a manipulated process, because riots will be the outcome when he's found innocent, which was the goal all along. This is why I will never watch or allow my money to go anywhere near useful idiots like this:
This is a guy with a racially-charged chip on his shoulder that just can't let go of it...

My fear all along has been that someone is manipulating the country toward civil unrest. This administration has clearly attacked the Constitution on all fronts. I wonder if they see any civil unrest as an opportunity to declare a "police state", and their work is done. God I pray not.

Not to seem woefully ignorant. I just don't watch much media. Who is that?
That would the actor, Jamie Fox. The one who says he gets to kill all the white people in Django. He was also in the Miami Vice movie, Collateral...

I doubt that any human has that level of control. Maybe a superior intelligence such as Satan could do. But most men are just not that smart. Nor able to put resources together without leaving a trace.
