THE O'REILLY FACTOR is not a news program, it's a talk show. That it gets higher ratings is because O'Reilly is much more flamboyant and entertaining than the hosts of other shows in the time slot, not because it has more news content.
No, I didn't miss your point. I just think you are off base if you think there is no difference in news "stories".
Just Google third bomber and you will only see Fox News stories. There is a difference.

Stanc,, Thanks to the media-I gave up watching most news on TV & only watch an attempt at a comedy sitcom show, here and there. TV sucks. The news gang does not need to broadcast their veiws on TV=we don't effing care what their idealisms are-STAY off of the channels!

P.S. Regarding TV, the last couple nights CNBC aired an interesting show, America's Gun: The Rise of the AR-15. I don't know if they plan to show it again this weekend

Yeah, It is great to find common ground. The first episode of Space 1999 was a kicker! A crewman on the moon colony went nuts and broke out a window. In the background of the action I remember seeing a glass of water boil off in the vacuum. Wow, I thought this could be a great series. Unfortunately it soon sunk into the usual space monster, yada yada crap.
I think one real prominent example of crap tv is the average subjects on the biography channel. We have such a diverse and interesting history to draw from, what do you see? Biographies of Tupac, Paula Abdul, Leonardo DiCaprio, my ghost story. Really?
It can be fun and sometimes real frustrating to debated topics with Liberals and "progressives"i. Just remember "We're right, they're wrong..that's the end of the story" ( Andrew Wilkow/ The Wilkow Majority)
Man I used to have the Space 1999 shuttle and Martin Landieu action figure, watched it every week. Yeah that and Science fiction theater was my favorites back in the day. Its amazing at how good things seemed to be when I was a kid and how cheezy they look now as an adult.

Get used to it. Such security measures are the future.
But, no hydration packs on a bike race hardly falls into the "government repression" category. At worst, it's only a nuisance. Annoying, but easily tolerated by both participants and general populace.
I'm still not used to flying the way it is now, and I fly regularly. I remember how it was before when I wasn't treated like a criminal by incompetent buffoons who are firmly latched to the gubm't gravy teet, and provide zero increased security by their own internal auditing findings.
It reminds me of the Airplane episode where the airport security personnel were violently frisking the granny as Middle Eastern terrorists walked by with AK's and RPG's without so much as a nod.

With the Middle Eastern cells that have been allowed to operate in major cities in the US with impunity, especially Boston, New York, OKC, Chicago, Atlanta, DFW, Austin, LA, etc., I do have a problem with "security measures" being applied to me, while the perpetrators seem to enjoy a protected status.
In better days, such "easily tolerated annoyances" were part of what we damned and ridiculed in the USSR, emblematic of micro-managed totalitarianism. Do you think you resist after over 60 million are murdered? Does anyone remember what Solzhenitsyn documented—both before and after he named names?
It looks like "nobody in particular" is is deep denial.
