My condolences to those trapped behind NY lines... I'd say "move away from there!", but it is rarely that easy, and it's cheap talk for me to say it while residing in another state. So instead I'll say: "Move away from there... If you can!"

They left out the "I will not comply!" option.

Upstate needs to section itself off from NYC, and charge exorbitant rates for food and other essentials that the bottom feeders rely on. Tax them into oblivion.

My wife was in Danbury Ct the day before the Newtown shooting happened for a job interview with a great company. We are still waiting on the final offer if it comes, but she has decided that unless it's totally outrageous in terms of salary WE AIN'T GOING. She sees the value of living in a "free state" and isn't thrilled about giving it up.

Exactly! Look if the USA does away with the 2nd ammendment then that is a situation where you have very liitle choice because leaving the country is a lot different then leaving a state. You can go to another state with a fair amount of work. Yes I know you'd have to find a place to live, a job etcccc..but ive decided if this $hit happens in Georgia I will not hesitate to leave and go to a gun friendly state. Maybe Texas.

Lokks to me that someone in NY should take an AR, with a side charge upper, machine a gasblock that will not use a gas tube, remove the buffer and spring, add all the items the state the state identifies as being "assault weapon" and carry that to the capital. In that form it would have the exact samelook of a dangerous assault weapon but it would not fall under the states definition it would be a straight pull bolt action rifle.

I dont see it happening in my State......until the Feds do it and yes its SHTF time when that happens. I am very disappointed in Saxby Chamblis and Johnny Isacson decisions on the 2nd Ammendment. I guess you show your true colors when you dont have to face an election again. Pricks!

A: If you submitted your form electronically, you will immediately receive an acknowledgement and tracking number (this is NOT confirmation that your registration has been approved). You will then be notified subsequently by e-mail and/or U.S. mail whether your registration was successful.

That's a handy little caveat for the gun control crowd. When folks submit their registration like good sheeple, the jackboots simply reject the registration attempt on the reason du jour, and boom, you turn over your guns or become an instant felon. However, knowing how benevolent the jackboots are in NY, I'm sure that would rarely happen, if ever.

Interesting. A Saiga .308, un-modified, does not qualify as an Assault Weapon under the (wish we were) SAFE act. No pistol grip or threaded muzzle, etc. I had one, once. Not terribly accurate, but certainly an effective Home Defense weapon. That doesn't, of course, speak to the magazine restriction, but the weapon itself doesn't need to be registered under these insane rules. Let the Loop Holes Begin!! (Again.)
