I've read the txt of the background check bill HB 1229 and its referenced requirements for that check. It refers to Colorado law 12-26-102, C.R.S.,which requires dealers to record all the information about the gun purchased and who purchased it and maintain that record for inspection. HB 1229 requires all state and federal record keeping as if the dealer was making the sale himself.
So there it is, a gun registration starting July 1 for all private gun sales or transfers. You don't see any mention of it in the news about why people oppose background checks.

Is moving the only answer? How about throw the bums out of office with a recall election. Several Sheriffs in CO have already said they refuse to enforce this unconstitutional act.

Yep! Too many liberal, relocated Californians and east coasters. The Denver-Colorado Springs metro area dominates the political landscape, much as Seattle-King County does in Washington. They elected them, but a recall vote would be almost impossible.

Ive always wanted to Colrado to do some long range Mule Deer and Elk hunting sometime this year I bought a 300 Weatherby mag to go and hunt there, literally. Well they can stick it up their A$$ now, I wont spend a dime there. I hope you guys there STAND, TELL THEM NO!

A fight is being forced upon us, as I've said before I truly hope that the people wake up and the courts put this governments back in check before it's to late. At this point I've got little faith in any branch of government and the majority of voting Americans. I do have faith that we can win this fight, but we'll have to be strategical about it.
It's in our best interest if our brothers in arms stay in these tyrannical states and continue to fight with their voice and vote, until all other options have been exhausted.

Things are getting a little "TO REAL" in our country right now, We're experiencing history in the making on our guns. One way or another things are changing and its definatly looking surreal.

A couple of weeks ago, I was loading a couple of new mags to store away and I had one of those surreal moments where everything becomes all to clear. We have to be diligent about speaking up, we all need to band together and educate the masses and make any and all firearms have a positive image. Convince the masses that they need the 2nd amendment to protect and prevent oppression from a tyrannical government!

As right as you are, I don't think that those on the other side will see it that way. Anyone who voted for Obama voted for bigger more oppressive government. Those people WANT the feds to tell everyone else what to do/think/eat/buy.

I left Colorado in '87 because-- even then-- I could see this coming. Sad fact is that the front range out populates the whole rest of the state, and therefore (much like all of our other problems) the hive dwellers control the legislature. Colorado ain't coming back, folks. From Ft Collins all the way down to Boulder, it may as well be SoCal already.
Colorado is no longer a free state, but it's close to a couple. Just don't bring your greenie bullshit up here-- if you come, come clean.
Back in the '70's there was a popular bumper sticker in Colorado that said, "Don't Californicate Colorado!" Seems not enough was done to prevent that from happening.
