I'd say VERY well!
Just thought I'd share with y'all a snippet of the success we've had hunting with 6.5's on the Colorado River in Mitchell County, Texas. No high fences here, all free range critters.
Equipment used...
AA 16" Chrome lined 6.5 upper
LMT lower
Trijicon 3x9x40
Loki Weapon Systems (now defunct!) DMR in 6.5
Zeiss 4.5-14x44

How large are these pigs?
The last picture makes it seem like it is somewhere between elk and moose?

We gather pig weight by measuring heart girth. The smallest one pictured, a boar, measured 150lbs. The hog in the last picture is actually a mature sow, who upon gutting had 7 piglets. She measured out 320-330lbs.

There has to be some serious shoulder plate on some of those pigs and mud on top for a good bullet test. What are your loads and shooting distances. It becomes a much improved analysis when you have multiple target oportunities rather than the one or two deer per year as some are unfortunately held to.

Hey Von Gruff, our ranges are typically 100-175 yards. All the hogs pictured were taken with AA loaded 120gr. Barnes TSX's. We have yet to recover a bullet, all have been full pass throughs with approx. double bore diameter exit holes. We aim dead center on the shoulder.
Those are some nice pigs right there. Those are some nice rifles right there too. I know you guys had a good time and thanks for the pics. I love the color of those black and white pigs. How far are they running? I know for me and my night hunting, I like to take head shots so they drop where they stand. Otherwise off to the thick woods they run. I'm not tracking a wounded boar hog into his home. Good job and good luck to you all in the future.

Shivesy,
We just started using 6.5's about 4 months ago. Since then we have taken 13 hogs, 10 of which died without taking a step. 2 of the 3 that ran were hit just behind the shoulder instead of through the center of the shoulder. Thanks for the compliments.
Well done! Thanks for sharing the pics and the info.

That is some serious pork. 6.5G + pig = Awesome !
What area of Texas you in ? South? East?
The first two remind me of the pigs we got when we hunted deep south Texas.
