I started a patrol rifle build right before the Sandy Hook shooting and unfortunately did not start with a lower. I already have a grendel however, my department only allows for rifles chambered in 5.56. Unfortunately my current lower would be a horrible set up for a patrol rifle considering the National Match trigger and fixed stock. Due to all the recent events, it reminds me how important it is to have a quality patrol rifle, which has me urgent to complete this build. As we all know, a lower cannot be purchased under $400.00 on gunbroker, and that is simply out of my price range. I wanted to purchase as many Noveske parts as possible due to the quality and the recent death of John Noveske, though I realize it's highly unlikely I will get to be picky.

I was looking at a thread on ar15.com that had a similar goal in mind however, that forum has me disgusted with it's members who are all perfectly fine with pricing their parts astronomically high in effort to take advantage of the proposed legislation and their fellow ar15 members. I honestly believe the grendel forum is better than that. I hope that we can have a thread focused on helping each other. We all have an idea of what is in demand right now, and what is difficult to find. I have signed up for email notifications for every lower on the Rainier Arms website about a month ago. Does anyone know of other websites allowing you to do this? Or any websites that have high demand items in stock? I hope that this thread could be a place for people to post websites or local stores, allowing email notification, backorders, or simply have high demand items in stock at sane prices.

Louie, if I was in your position, I would get a lower on order then configure your current lower as your patrol rifle. I would put more importance on my duty rifle than my toys anyday. Just my $.02

CPT.CRAZY you have a really good point. I'm going to have to consider doing this. It's going to take some cash to make the appropriate changes and I'm terrified I will tie up all my extra cash and somebody will have lowers in stock while I'm flat broke and can't get one.

BCM emails but when I received the E-mail for bcg it was sold out 20 minutes after I had received the E-mail. Even if they don't get the awb I think the best bet is to order from a good company and wait till your order comes up. An 8 month wait is better than hopping for the best. Lower receivers, lower receiver parts and bcg seem to be the hardest parts to obtain. I have BCG ordered at three different places and if I receive any extras I will sell them here for cost if any one needs them. There is a big demand among some of my shooting buddies and law enforcement friends here in my area as well.

I agree with the capt. Convert the toy back into a practical tool. I don't see the prices if these items going down anytime soon. Supply & demand - the higher prices are rotten, but now many are rushing to purchase ARs. Perhaps congress will act & realize banning guns in a country founded on guns is a ridiculous idea & the interest will die down. You know as a LEO, you can help facilitate this by selling one idea to your colleagues. That idea is that this demand is hurting your department & other LEO departments bottom line, therefore you & your colleagues would urge congress & the president to not ban these types of guns. The quicker this happens, the quicker demand will go down.

For the time being, just swap a few parts in the range queen - the beauty of this system is its modularity!!!

Kegs, your exactly right. Most of my department is just as disgusted as we all are with the new legislative proposals. There is a couple more officers at my department who have been saving up to purchase an AR. Unfortunately, without being extremely proactive in your search its not very likely these officer will find a weapon any time soon.

You can thank the anti-gunners for having a lesser equipped police department.

Since your LEO consider contacting Rock River Arms LE sales. My son in law was able to gets some parts from them through the LE sales dept. You could at least get on their waiting list. RRA has supported LE Officers in my area and has good customer service.

RRA will deal with Individual Officers with proof of LE employment.
