It's time we fought the left on a battlefield of our choosing.

For the last century or so the left has chose when and how to attack our constitutional rights, and like true patriots we have not hesitated to meet them on their chosen battlefield to defend our constitution. Unfortunately this has more often than not resulted in a "compromise" that left us with less liberties and more perversion of our constitution.

This time, Gents, let us choose the battlefield. Let us stand together and demand that the NFA be repealed on the grounds of its unconstitutionality. Let us demand our constitution be honored by elected officials.

I humbly suggest the slogan, "Either repeal the 2nd or repeal the NFA. Good luck on the later!"

Gents I'm not crazy, so before it's suggested I do NOT believe WMD's fall under the 2nd nor should they.

Nor should classifieds military items that would compromise our national defense if it falls into the hands of our enemies.

However, Planes, Tanks, Helicopters, and Crew Serves do fall under the 2nd.

First off I do believe, as do most gun owners, I should be held responsible for my actions and negligence. If my negligence in handling my weapon results in the death of another I should be held responsible. The same should go for all Americans. Should I fail to secure my weapons and a child in my care acquires possession of one and injures another I should be held responsible.

Note: Another person harming another with a weapon of mine that is unlawfully acquire is another situation entirely that cannot always be prevented.

Let us now be realistic, how many Americans can afford tanks, planes, or helicopters, let alone the arms for said vehicles?

Now just how many of those Americans are going to be irresponsible or psychotic?

Let us enter the notion for one second one of said individuals maybe irresponsible or psychotic, then that individual should be held responsible for their actions!

I think the issues that matter are objective issues of RIGHT and WRONG. It is objectively WRONG to leave good people defenseless against the most dangerous, pitiless, money-worshipping mass murderers and looters on the planet.

"Right" and "left" are subjective issues and, as anyone who has lived a couple of generations can tell you, the "right-left" goal posts are constantly shifting. "Right" and "left" are just an old game in new clothing—but that discussion would take us into the forbidden waters of religion. :-)

It's spelled "latter", btw. Later is time, latter is the second choice.

We've been entirely too focused on the 2nd Amendment, which is really the "pushed into a corner" amendment of last resort to deter tyranny. We need to become experts in the 1st Amendment, which the left has owned up until the late 1980's.

Suggest you think of a battle with better chance of success. Although I agree the NFA is unconstitutional, the SCOTUS appears to consider it okay.

Plus, when has a major Federal gun law ever been repealed?

Better to put your time and $$$ into a fight you have a chance of winning.

Miller having been killed before the hearing, no evidence was offered on his behalf that NFA weapons had military use. The Supremes said they could not "take judicial notice" of what was as plain as the noses on their faces that SBS's such as Miller had used (or other NFA firearms) were certainly used by the military, so they simply let the NFA '34 stand.

I am not aware of any other relevant NFA decisions. Am I missing something important?
