This executive order ABUSE pisses me off. Now, it's understandable and natural. How many times have I, myself, said, "If I were King of the World" I would fix everything thus and such? We all, each of us, are proud in our own way. The beauty of the U.S. Constitution, however, is that it recognizes the fallibility of our human nature and the folly of our overweening pride and dictates LIMITS and CHECKS & BALANCES on our misguided utopian tendencies in order to garner the CONSENT of the governed.
Does the president respect this, or is he going to end-run both Congress and the Constitution in his impatience to advance his agenda via executive orders?
A damn right mess, that.

We all do, the bad thing about the whole situation is not knowing WTF is going to happen. At least when they come up with their BS new laws we'll be able to decide our course of actions with a clear conscience.

dont know if its true, but i read on facebook that legislators in Wyoming want to introduce a bill to sentence anyone trying to enforce federal gun laws there to 5 years in prison.... We need that in Texas for sure!!!

Executive orders can only be based on existing legislation. The President cannot create new legislation. He could try to execute the expired "Assault Weapons Ban", but likely that would end up being defeated in the courts.
And as Newt pointed out, the House must approve any budget to carry an Executive Order. So the House could effectively block the Order by not funding it.
So all of our hopes still rest with the House - blocking legislation or not funding Obama's end runs. Please write your representatives.

I read the local newspaper today- the (white? house)- realizes they won't be able to use the exc. order as they had hoped for.
The new plan is to go for anything that may--pass thru the usual channels.-=To include a 10 rnd. limit, & NO- assault rifle (modern sporting rifle) ban. And finally,,, address the Mental Health Issues in the USA. They have to do something to appease the Conn. gang.( I feel the pain , as we all do for the parents of those kids.) OMG.!!!
The repub. led congress would stonewall it anyway. So history may hold true, once again, the pres. is only a broadcaster. He has limited power.
I may call Jaque Coustou JR., then board the Calypso-to go deep water gps. hunting for my rifle-the unit in 1200 ft. of water in Lake Superior. I think we will ride this out-plan just in case. Always good to have a many -buggout plans- to hide stuff, etc.
Never have to worry about it, if the feds can't find it...

Sojor, got it from a place I had never heard from before called AR-15 depot out of Van Nuys California. 175 bucks delivered but with no bolt.... ( but i have a spare bolt, so I am good. ). Item number #SF556
Ordered it last Saturday, got it the following Friday ( yesterday ).
