We often hear the claim that we shouldn't have modern firearms because the Founders never envisioned assault rifles.

Journalists shouldn't have access to email and the web because the Founders never envisioned them publishing permit-holders' addresses...clearly an abuse of assault speachers. These rapid-fire assault speachers are so dangerous, they can send out an attack across cyberspace, carbon-copying other assault speachers ad infinitum. There ought to be a law to limit journalists from sending more than 10 messages out per email, and we should finger-print them and make them pay for registration cards for their email accounts, computers, with comprehensive mental illness exams, & background checks.

We should do it for the safety of the children & the greater good of society.

I'm not sure Feinstein's bill as currently envisioned by her ladyship would pass SCOTUS muster, at least with current membership.

But I can see potential registration and NFA status being imposed and upheld by SCOTUS. (Heller passed upon entertaining licensing requirement since Heller did not object, as long as it wasn't arbitrary). Most likely a high capacity magazine ban.

I agree it wouldn't pass constitutional muster, but it seems some legislatures simply don't care and will happily pass unlawful bills and wait the decade or two it takes for the judicial branch to sort it out. Other than the eventual loss of their seats, legislators face no other repercussions. Personally, I think such blatant disregard for the Constitution should result in treason charges.

You give these people to much credit when you refer to them as journalists. They are only a step above bloggers (who are wannabee journalists) and when you look at their sentences you wonder how they got out of English Composition in their freshman year.
