Not true. There are procedures for skipping the "normal" court process and go INS Direct to the Federal Courts/Supreme Court for emergency stay. If the "stay" is given, the normal process continues through the courts without the law being enforced.

The Supreme Court, realizing people are on the threshold of rebellion, would likely give the stay.

Grendel gene-Calm down. Don't make threats!! ( Make plans-instead.) Mainly the one's you won't, can't afford to back up. Do you want to spend time--for a cop. - or an --oooops! Honestly...they believe we are SHEEPLE. They are disconnected from the average Joe. Do you remember the post ObamaCare "town hall" meetings where some congressmen received some hostile remarks?...they stopped conducting the town halls and/or ridiculed the people who were upset with them.

Some of them truly believe we'll all just roll-over once something is enacted to law, because conservatives just don't participate in civil disobedience.

First it would have to get through the state courts!

The Chicago handgun BAN withstood the court system and last for more than 20 years before it was overthrown.

The State ban against Concealed Carry is, in practical sense, still in effect, and has been for 100+ years, despite the fact that a Federal court has mandated they establish some form of CC. The problem is they have 180 days to concoct a system that will likely be so cumbersome and restrictive that 99% of the citizen probably won't qualify.

We have a voter registration drive in our district going from dem to Republican. There is no way to clean the dem party so we are making change in the Republican party. When the politicans see voter base change they will too. We made a difference this past election. My grandad said if things keep going in this direction people will be cooking and eating democrats in the streets one day.

First off, not going to happen.

Secondly, the surrounding counties generally support Chicago. Its the counties beyond the immediate ring of collar counties that hold gun rights near and dear to their hearts. But Chicago/Cook County and the immediate collar counties are increasingly hostile to gun rights. Those counties also hold most of the population for the entire state.

A buddy of mine and I were discussing this ban last night over grilled venison and potatoes. It was decided that, should the ban pass and they start collecting peoples weapons, we will drop everything, arm up, and stand with anyone who actively opposed this UnConstitutional ban. We're both former military, and we stand by our oath to support and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC! Who here will stand with us when the time comes?
