Carbon Fiber Hand Guard

Hi folks

I have had a boat shop for many years and lots of experience with composites so I decided to build some free float carbon fiber hand guards. Here's a few pics. If you guys like them I'll make more and sell them for a good price. I use Aerospace Carbon Fiber, UV resistant epoxy. It's all US made and very sturdy and and extremely light. It can mount and dismount without using glue or epoxy so it can be easily installed and removed.

The CF handguard looks really good and I assume they would be a quite a bit lighter than aluminum. I was looking at a Hogue over molded rubber hand guard for my next build. I might be interested in your CF handguard if the price is in the same price range.

A little over 3 oz.

Correction. I got to a good postal scale this am and it weighs 7.1 oz.

Is that a typo? That's insane light. What's the Inner Diameter, and Outer Diameter? What barrel nut are you using?

2" id and an aluminum barrel nut. I'll check that weight tomorrow on the postal scale at work. I'll have to measure the outer.

Yes, that was wrong. I used the mail scale at work today and it is is 7.1 oz. I guess I overloaded my powder scale and it read wrong.
