If any you have been watching the news, have likely heard about the latest shooting spree, this time the the Idiot was in a "sold-out" theater!

These news reports make me wanna vomit.

The gun destroyers are going to run with this. Its all over the net and tv. Even alot of the damn movie stars are saying people shouldnt have guns here in america. I think things are going to get ugly for us within the next year or 2. God bless all those people who were killed in cold blood just trying to enjoy themselves at a movie. I think the jerk wanted to get caught as well. They found him behind the theater by his car.

Sad, but true. The reporters seemed so disgusted that an "assault style rifle" was used. I really feel sorry for the people killed, but we don't need anymore gun bans.

No we don't need anymore gun laws. Let's assume for a minute that the UN treaty passed and all guns disappeared from this country without a revolution. Fairy Tale land I know but let's assume for the moment. If a psycho like this wants to kill innocent people in a movie theater he's going to do so with or without guns. He's going to seal the exits and set the place on fire, or maybe he makes a home made bomb out of fertilizer and blows up the building. Wait that's already been done.

The answer always has been and always will be KNOWLEDGE! The public needs to be more educated especially in firearms, so that we will have more educated properly train Americans carrying concealed. Then let's see how often somebody does this in future without an old man in the crowd pulling out a firearm and proceeding to do a failure to stop drill on the psycho.

This will never be the answer pushed for the sole reason that it would further limit the power of the tyrants we've sent to washington. The more informed and knowledgeable the American public is the less power washington can obtain silently in the night, without the American people putting up a fight.

However complicated the issues becomes it comes down to one simple question. Which is more important to you Life or Liberty? I've made my decision long ago.

It is par for the course that whenever there is a senseless mass killing there are those on the liberal left that call for more restrictive "gun laws". At least in the western countries where the screaming PC liberals carry unreasonable weight with their illogical emotive retoric. As has been said there are (and have been) more ways for insane people to carry out thier deluded fantasies than with a firearm. I japan where there are some of the most restrictive gun laws the knife has held the place of the tool for mass killing with attacks on schools or gas has been used. Large vehicles have been driven into buildings and dare I say it planes have been used as well. There is fertiliser bombs, gas canister and fuel bombs and any number of ways for the sick in society to gain thier twisted aims, but to disarm society is the very oposite to what the solution might be. Fortunately here in NZ where we have had our own mas killings, when the usual calls for tighter gun controls were heard there arrose the COLFO (coalition of liscenced firearm owners) and with serious and factual representations to the govt of the day, these repressive laws were not enacted.

Maybe if it wasnt such a pain in the ass for a law abiding citizen to carry he would have gotten taken out before anybody was killed. Sometimes people are our own worse enemy.

The problem is they want to focus on type of firearm and not the fact that this whack job could have done the same thing with a browning BAR or any other semi auto for that matter. People, politicians will attempt to make a name for themselves off this incident but could really care less about the event or the weapons. This will be about politics and nothing else. What we need are people to speak to counter what we all know to be bull$hit. Politics is a funny game that way and they will run with whatever the hot topic of the moment is, its just sad that this is it.

he could have probably done alot worse with a load of buckshot in pump shotguns if he knew what to do! but, it was the evil black rifle! most of these crimes are commited by people that werent long time gun owners like most of us. We need to quit pampering society and get a hold on things again. It is what it is, people do what they do, its not sensible gun owners, its not sensible people, its whack jobs. We need to hold PEOPLE accountable, not the weapons they use. Public "punishment" would cure alot of our problems these days.

What is interesting to me is that this shooting like many others somehow involve education. Maybe that is where the problem lies. We should tie mass murder to education and root out the problems there. Educators are the most liberal of society and look at the products they turn out, mass murderers. So lets hold people accountable and get rid of liberal educators that do nothing but promote mass murder.

Why is he an idiot though? It seems that he carefully and thoughtfully planned out and well carried out a very psychotic but intricate and complete plan. Not only did he get a high kill count and a very high wounded count but he also managed to tie up a whole police department along with sheriffs and federal resources for a full day. If you ask me he designed a cunning and complete plan to cause maximum havoc. He's still an evil psycho but to label him an idiot masks the thing that is often discounted... an intelligent thoughtful psycho can cause unbelievable havoc regardless of the weapon choice simply by having a plan.

You have to ask yourself what broke him. What perceived tortures turned a normal nerd into a high output killer. It's important to note that his planning and action was so well done that he lived through the experience despite all the violence he delivered. Consider that you never get true evil without enough intellect to do something with the instinct.

Don't go thinking I'm supporting the actions in anyway. He's evil but at least give credit where credit's due.

Cory, Peck.-I agree, most sane adults should carry. Who has the reasonable cost method to check everyone 's sanity ? We obviously can't go by IQ levels. Von, I agree , look at what mcvay did in 1995-should the government ban fertilizer, and cube vans? Vehicles are responsible for more deaths, than guns. Ban more vehicles, gas would be cheap- pollution would be lessened too. Another sad tragedy, a product of our gleaming society.

I just read on FOX news where large capacity magazines are the culprit for the shooting spree! We must have stricter gun laws in this country. I can just imagine the next few months and what kind of talk is going to happen concerning the recent shooting spree and firearm laws.

Psychos kill people, sometimes not many, sometimes many. It happens, and has happened for thousands of years. Hey ! As -LR stated---back off on ANY threats! Think before you say- Anything ! Time to watch & learn, - wait & see. I don't see any big issues from this tragedy- as far as guns are concerned. It's Sad,,,,,,,,, -yet only- 1-in 300 million ( cracks) per yr. here.. Low profile it for a month,, or so. Let's all speak of the weather, and powder densities, Chamber specs. etc. Chill- learn more about the mental health problems, in certain age groups in the USA, and what fuels that .. Lay low, relax- join the nra.. go clean your evil automobile, or sell that evil cube van. Do a study upon what americans really want- need, for true safety- from mom & pop's front porch veiws-concerning arming the citizens.
