carbine accuracy?

As some of you know, I've got a little reworking of my riffle to do thanks to a local gunshop! I have a sixteen inch barrel one in nine. Wondering if a longer barrel will be superior in accuracy or negligible for me under five hundred?

Theoretically, accuracy shouldn't be a problem. What a longer barrel will give you is higher velocities which will deliver more energy and buck the wind better.

your fine to 500. higher velocities would be MORE helpful if you were going out to 800-1000.

Assuming you are shooting with a scope accuracy doesn't change with barrel length. Windage becomes dominant at longer ranges, so mv is a big factor.

With iron sights the longer barrel sometimes (if the front and rear sight are farther apart) gives you a longer sight radius so that improves accuracy.
