My son just gave me a present. It is a grip handle monopod made by him, completely out of stainless steel. It fits neatly in the hollow of a Hogue AR15 grip. After looking it over, I wondered how many people might want one of these, so I told him I would throw it on the forum to see if there is any interest. We think it could be adapted to many other hollow grips. Very simple, and stays put, and easy to remove. Carriage bolt welded to large hex nut threaded into a nut welded to the base plate with 2 vertical locating flanges. Vertically stable. Untested as of now. Horizontal stability might be improved by increasing the internal thread length. Have a look at the pictures, and let me know if anyone might be interested.

Nice. Looks close to the one I made for my cavalry arms mkII lower, and the one I made for a standard AR grip. Try using fine thread bolts.
I tried this mono-pod last weekend, and it worked well. The course threads were OK, and did not shift much between shots. I think we will double stack another nut on top of the single, and index it so to provide some more horizontal stability, but a monopod will never provide the stability a bi-pod or bag rest will. I am looking for some interior all thread so we can reduce the wobble, but this is so much better than a sand bag.
Depending on price, I'll try one.

what size is the bolt? it looks like a course thread. a fine thread would give you a finer adjustment. as for the wobble cutting the hole tighter and use a sharp tap or thread the bolt to fit the threads in the hole.
