I normally use higher magnification. But, I figured it would go well on my 7mm Rem Mag to use for deer. Is the glass as good as they say?

I'm not sure which rifle I want to put it on. I wan't to hunt with my Grendel. But, I also like the long range. So, I would probably prefer having the higher manification than I would get with the Zeiss. On the other hand, I have a 7mm Rem Mag that is buy far my best long range rifle. But, I hunt with it more than anything else ...... so the 3x9 would probably work best on it for hunting ... but restrict my long range a bit. Ah .... choices.

At least I already have a 6.5x20 Viper on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 ...... and that one stays ......... LOL.

I'm kind of chomping at the bit to see what the glass is like. I may go to the sportsmans wharehouse and see if they have one just to see how I like it.

Got that Zeiss in the mail. It's no frills. standard flat black. It does have capped un-numbered turrets, but they can easily be zeroed by lifting and turning to zero. There is a fat line with an arrow in the zero spot. When I took it from 100 to 200, the turrets did dail to what they should when I dailed for zero. The clicks were really solid and the turrets were not sloppy in the least bit. The glass is absolutely FANTASTIC. I'm not much for 3-9 x 40's, but the superb glass does tend to make up for some of the "missing" magnification. All in all, it will make a fantastic hunting scope. I hit the bull with my 7mm twice from 200. Didn't shoot for groups since the pencil barrel on my 7mm heats up fast and shoots crap for groups.
