Looks like Hornady is releasing a new 6.5 Grendel factory load with their new 100 grain V-Match bullet: https://www.shootingwire.com/releases/8a...8ef35488df
I'll be keeping an eye out for it in stores, it'll be nice to have another option.

You gotta love Hornady- always coming out with new stuff- they have a new "click style" micrometer seater die top, and a new steel target long range hit indicator. They are also announcing the " 22 ARC" which is basically a 22 grendel which I already shoot, (kind of like the 260 rem, then - 6.5 creedmoor deal, or 6mm grendel then 6mm ARC deal) hahaha oh well, its all good in my book new bullets are always a good thing in my book.

I've been looking at the Hornady website under new products & on YouTube podcasts where they're promoting these new V-Match bullets & the 22 ARC Cartridge. It started earlier today when I got an email from Uintah Precision announcing their new 22 ARC uppers for bolt guns & complete 22 ARC ARs. From their description of the .224 62gr. version of this bullet, I wonder if it will be too long for .223 REM/5.56mm NATO magazines?
The 22 ARC is interesting but I doubt I'll be delving into a new chambering anytime soon. I'm still deep into Grendel & 6mm ARC.

Yeah in one of their podcasts they say the 62 gr will be too long for a 223/556 AR. Bolt guns maybe not.

That's an impressive BC for 100 grain, not too far off from the 123s. The Lapua 100 grain Scenar is 0.424. I'll be curious to see what other calibers they add and what the real world terminal performance is.

Varmint bullets have proven to work well as medium game hunting bullets in 6.5 Grendel since they arent screaming out at 3200-3800fps mv, but are more in the 2700-3000fps mv range depending on barrel length.
From my 12 Grendel, Im getting 2700fps with factory 90gr TNT, 2900fps from the 17.6 Lilja.
From a 20 Grendel, the 100gr ELD-VT should do 2820-2920fps with CFE-223.
Head shots might see exits, but thoracic hits will probably be entrances only with a lot of tissue destruction on the impact side.
Their gel testing shows rapid fragmentation of the ELD-VT bullets.
That 100gr is almost as good as a 107gr SMK in BC. Im using the Litz BC for the SMK, not Sierras published numbers, which are under-stated.

I can't find info on their site but this looks like a bonded bullet, is that right?
I don't think they'll be legal to hunt with for me in California, unfortunately.

Yes, AMP jacket. Jacket is plated to the core instead of a traditional core stuffed into a jacket.

Not bonded bullets. They would be part of the Interbond line if they were bonded. You dont see bonded varmint bullets because people want varmint bullets to explode on little critters, whereas bonded are for deep penetration and exits on medium-to-large game animals.

with a hollow core area up front, I wonder how sensitive the jacket would be to "deforming" if you're handloading, getting into compressed loads? Or if you have a failure to feed, will it deform? somebody needs to buy some immediately & find out , LOL !!!

I don't know how useful it will be for hogs. I am hoping it is outstanding. That it is 100 gr. really isn't an issue.
We really don't know until we shoot some critters and see what the terminal ballistics look like to know if we like the performance of the bullet. I suspect it will work well enough that somebody will try shooting something far too large with it.
