Got Wood?!

I picked up this wood over the week end at a gun show. I know its not free floating, but it looks nice. Different. I had to drill holes in the bottom to get some air flow.

I thought about using wood for what I'm working on now, wojo14 you may have just cost me more money down the road that looks great. Truly a piece of art. All of the photos I was seeing was just the wood, it looks even better on the rifle.

Wood is good! Gives the rifle a more traditional look. It might even help to disspell the evil black gun perception.

I like the tac and long range looks, but I just wanted to keep this one nice and clean. I might even put a more simple scope on it, and put the Viper on my next build.

You can make that a free-float by using a DCM competition float tube under the handguards, with a little modification to the handguards maybe. I've had a sinister plan for something crazy along these lines, that will be really over the edge as far as AR's go.

Alot of guys don't like the wood... I've thought about doing one in walnut and throwing one of gramps' unertl scopes on it... Just for grins.
