If they did this in the UK SOF contract 11.5 configuration, it would be the heat. (In Grendel of course, but I think a lot of people are on the 6mm ARC trend without having looked at the 2 side-by-side on the range.)

i just put together two uppers in 6arc. only a few rounds thru them so far. my impressions are still out to lunch. soon i will shoot them side by side with equal grendels. but they do seem to extend the range some according to the ballistic charts.
with factory 105's 16" was 2515 fps and the 12.5" was 2402 at 3,000'

I ended up building an 18" and 14.5" 6ARC with PROOF carbon barrels and NF optics to do a semi clone of what JSOC adopted early on. Still have an 11", 14.5" and 18" Grendel and really appreciate both caliber siblings... Best comparative description I've read is "6ARC is a target round that can also hunt and Grendel is a hunting round that can also target really well." The fact that KAC is offering a 6ARC really seems to cement the fact that it's adopted by the military and will probably get better support eventually than 6.5 Grendel... Either way, they both smoke 5.56 in performance and I'm tickled to have them
(still have two 5.56s though just in case SHTF!)

When Hornady had the Sniper section shooters who wanted SR-25 reach without having to carry an SR-25, they said 6.5 Grendel did everything they wanted.
Then Hornady said they could tweak it a bit and make it better.
All they really needed to do was update a lighter 6.5mm bullet, but not invented here prevailed.
A 107-110gr with pointed tips and a long boat tail would increase the BC.
I just got some Fort Scott Munitions TUI 123gr, and they have pointed tips. Listed G1 BC is .571 so Im going to centerline them at 800yds and see how they perform compared to advertised BC.
The 123gr Scenar and 123gr SMK are legit .522-.527 G1/.260 G7.
107gr SMK is higher than Sierra advertises as well at .460 G1.
Like weve talked about for years, if they want a lighter weight flat-shooter, there are already several options for that and Hornady could do the 107-115gr A-TIP or TAP 6.5mm rounds.
When I ran the numbers between 6.5mm 107gr SMK and 6mm 108gr ELD-M, they just arent that different in terms of drop, although the 108gr does have wind deflection advantage that incrementally gets better with distance.
They both are really easy to hit partially-exposed targets at distance with though.
Grendel gives you far more top-end weights and visible target feedback that no 6mm can really deliver though.
Multiple Sniper Instructors Ive spoken with from both SF and USMC have all preached to me as if I never heard about 6.5 Grendel, and I just nodded because it was like listening to myself.

Agree with all your points, I'm just not in a position to set up a re-loading bench so stuck with factory ammo...

Don't thank me, thank LRRPF52, he mentioned them.
I'm stuck behind enemy lines, ordering ammo is a no no. I had no idea this stuff is out there because I load my own.
