Any "sketchy" venue that takes bitcoin, venmo, etc - is a HARD NO, those are scam sites.

8208 is imported from Thales in Australia. My guess is that Hodgson/IMR only brings in large shipments at a time, so it will appear pretty much everywhere once it comes in. There are probably a few smaller shops that have some on a back shelf, but the larger vendors have been selling out quickly. You might want to check with local gun shops within reasonable driving distance.

I found a pound of H335 hiding on the loading bench. I started tonight at 26 grains and got up to 27.5. The primers started to flatten and had some marks on the case head at 27.5. Loaded 4 different loads and will shoot for accuracy tomorrow.

LRRPF, I am trying to remember (getting old sucks). I know that the Grendel max chamber pressure is limited by the AR15 bolt design, but I thought that you seldom see "pressure signs" at 52,000 psi. In other words, is it generally a bad idea to load until you see flattened primers rather than sticking to book loads?

The general consensus is the published loads are scaled to max pressure which generates the listed velocities. Using muzzle velocity as your indicator of pressure is preferred over traditional signs which show up when you are already grossly over pressure. There is a chart available on this forum where you can extrapolate expected velocity gain/loss for barrel length. Use a chrono amd common sense and you will be fine.

I dont know about infinite but pretty long yea. Powder can last a super long time if treated right. There is decay over the years but likely (with these plastic jugs) you will be dead before that happens. I doubt we will figure out how to live beyond 150 years by then. In that time some old timer that's not even born yet will find some and go "watch this" then shoot an excellent group with it.

River, I use H335 and found the load at 27.2 grains. I went up higher but found it was too hot in my rifle. If anyone wants to work up a load with the 123 SST, start lower.

Sort of along lines of what Zeneffect said, this caliber was probably the quirkiest I’ve loaded for. And reading primers might not tell us much.

I started my h335 loads at 27.5 up to 27.9 is where I settled with the best groups. That was with PPU brass. Loaded up some 27.2’s with starline to see if I get the same results.
