Loading first mags

Getting this rifle project nearing the finish. I loaded up a 20 rd Duramag with Barnes 119(?) factory loads.

They simply rattle around in there like nothing I’ve ever encountered. Got it full up, tight as can be or just half filled. The rounds are shorter than the mag, and it’s as if the mag is too wide as well. 10 rounders are not anywhere near as loose.

Is this normal?

My steel mags do that. Annoying, as I don't really like my gear rattling while hunting afield.

I wish they made polymer mags, which would be quiet. But basically they can't, it has to be steel because that's the only material strong enough they can make thin enough, to fit in a Grendel magwell. There are some odd projects out there with semi-single stack, that I might try. I think others have more experience with that? The capacity is low, but for hunting, that's probably OK.

Amend2 sell a ten round polymer 6.5 Grendel mag but my lower capacity 6.5 Grendel mags don’t rattle. Once the mags wear in I don’t remember my higher capacity Grendel mags making any noise. Here is a link to Midway who has the Amend2 mags in stock.
