Will be interesting to see what the Republicans in the Senate do if it makes it out of the House.

This seems like grandstanding for voters more than anything, since they know they don’t have the votes in the Senate and definitely won’t have the support from the WH.

I’ve been hungering for an end to the NFA since I was a kid, but it has to be done strategically, given the nature of the legislative process.

I think if dozens of State AGs get together and tell the ATF they’re not welcome in our States, and that we will enforce USC 18, Sections 241 and 242, the 2A, 4A, 9A, 10A, Heller, Bruen, WV vs EPA in prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law, then put out awards for any State and local LEOs and citizens who successfully arrest and bring forth said violators of the Constitution before a magistrate to be prosecuted.

Enemies to the Constitution and the States who directly seek to violate the birthrights of the people deserve no quarter.

That will force it before SCOTUS, since the list of egregious violations of the Bill of Rights is so lengthy and obvious when it comes to the mandate and conduct of the ATF.

The fact ATF are tasked with violating the Bill of Rights, and that the 73rd Congress thought they could evade the restrictions placed on them by the Constitution by weaponizing their power to tax, would be hard to justify even for the activist justices because of precedence/ stare decisis.

Imagine a Federal bureaucracy tasked with violating the First Amendment, 4th Amendment, 5th Amendment, etc. by the justification that Congress has the power to tax to work around those restrictions.

I've got no problem with issuing a bill, even though it hasn't much chance of getting all the way through.
It becomes a marker in the struggle.
It would also be great to find a way to get your info into a court case or something, maybe like you outline.
Another key issue is to restrict or eliminate funding for them, by simply not authorizing any appropriations.
I definitely think that attack via multiple fronts is what to do.
Something will break through, keep chipping away.

My question is, what is the motive behind these types of bills?

Am I expected to believe that these Congressmen don’t know that these bills will probably never go into committee in this Congress?

Even if they were to come out of Committee, they have no chance of passing in the Senate and certainly won’t be signed by pedo-Joe.

So that leads me back to my original question: What is the motive?

I can only suspect that they are trying to look pro-2A to their voters to add another checkmark for the next mid-terms.

Funny how no RINOs introduced legislation when their party had control of the House, Senate, and WH.

Of course I’ve been in favor of utterly eviscerating the ATF for decades, but let’s see this for what it is.

Part of it is to force the Dimms to defend against it, attack along multiple fronts.
The leftists cannot ignore because if they do, it might make it farther along than they think.
More importantly, it becomes a candidate to be tacked on as a rider to another bill.
This is what the Dimms have done for a long time. And I'm not dissuaded by having "only single issue bills." There will be plenty of room in a bill that has some bearing somehow on the atf.
Gaetz, if I recall, introduced one of these. In some ways he's been a bit weird but sometimes he hits the nail on the head.
Again, may not make it very far but if you want something to go through you have to introduce it...
