6.5 Grendel Newbie

Hello all,

Stumbled across this forum looking for reloading data after converting one of my 20" ARs that I hadn't shot in forever. Absolutely loving the round so far but I'm till in search of of a powder that produces velocities like the factory Hornady Black 123 ELDs. Seems to be lot of knowledgeable people amongst the ranks here and I am looking forward to learning.

Welcome to the forum Ryno785! LeveRevolution and CFE223 can get comparable velocity to factory 123 grain ELD-M 6.5 Grendel ammo. Biggest disadvantage is these two powders are not as temperature stable as AR Comp, H4895 or IMR8208XBR.

So far, I have tried TAC and 8208. TAC had better velocities and at 29 grains I was at ~2530 FPS with a 20" barrel but I was starting to show pressure signs. That was with Sierra 123 Matchkings. Just picked up 200 123 ELDs. Sounds like I need to pick up some CFE223. Appreciate the info.
