Went up to the club this afternoon to shoot some steel on the 500 meter range
..
Found a vacant bench that was just right
then I went in search for a chair.
The only chairs available looked like they were stolen from a homeless shelter in Atlanta,
Eventually found a wooden stool that was about 4 inched too short
..
Here is the deal now, I am going to start taking my own chair to the club
..
Drummers chair????? Shop chair?

..I need a stable chair.

The last time I was at the range during an ARA (American Rimfire Association) match, several of the participants had brought adjustable mechanics wheeled stools. I have considered this too.

Shoot prone. Shoot off of the bench with one or two knees on the ground. Get on 2 knees on the ground and shoot off of the stool getting it as stable as you can. Put the stool on the table and shoot off of it standing. There aren't a lot of benches in the field.

There are stools on Amazon for massage therapists and tatoo artists that can be bought for less than $50. I am using one and like it a lot. Always soft, adjustable height for when I shoot different rifles.
