New Grendel build

Don’t post here often but I just finished putting together, another Grendel #3 I’ve owned over the years

Boyed’s heritage walnut full glass and pillar bedded
Jefferson outdoors hinged floor plate
DPT suppressor made here in nz
Got a weaver super slam 2-10x50 on it

Im a lover of traditional looking rifles this fits that bill nicely
I think the stock could do with checkering is the only thing still to do

What type of animals do you hunt over there?

I’m in Georgia whitetail deer and pigs are big in the southeast.

There’s lots of hunting opportunities over here most of our game animals are sadly considered pests and our government spends millions trying to eradicate deer it’s absolutely disgusting they don’t even use the meat it gets left in the bush to rot

If there’s one silver lining to this it’s that there is no seasons
And no rules about what you can shoot
So we can go hunting all year round which is nice

Where i am just north of Auckland we have fellow deer and feral goats and pigs
A couple of hours south your into red deer and sika deer
I use the Grendel for the fellow and goats but i step up to a 6.5creed for the bigger stuff down south

How has ammo/projectile availability been for you guys?

Atm i am using 120gn speer gold dots with a hot charge of cfe223 can’t remember the exact amount it’s over in the reloading room in the barn

There is a small very small (most kiwis don’t even know about him) 1 man company that makes projectiles here in nz
I’ve been using his 6mm bullets for years and up until recently he only made 22 6mm and 30cal but he’s started making 6.5’s a 120 and a 140 and I grabbed a box of 120’s to try in the Grendel
They are a match bullet but myself and guys that use them have found they are a fantastic hunting bullet
Interesting Rbt design they shoot awsome in 6mm so excited to try them in the 6.5

The supply has been more than terrible for everything
Bits and pieces comeing in but it’s gone in less than 3 hours after going in the shelves
Then shows back up on trademe (our ebay) for triple the amount sad thing is people are that desperate they are buying

Biggest thing at the moment is large rifle primers there’s been none available for at least 3 months
I only have 50 left then anything that’s large rifle will be useless
