Any particulars on the rifle and round that killed that pig?

It was a memorible hunt last year. It had been raining for weeks. I was in a bad mood. The Avon Park Boming range was active and waking me up at nigth. So I went hunting. Remington 700 Grendelised with 18" barrel, Burris 2x7 scope LOW rings and 123gr factory Hornady ammo. I was walking in to a stand through waist high grass when I noticed movment maybe 30 yards off to my left. A hog. His head was down but I did'nt have a real good shot. So I stalked closer. I noticed movment all around me, I had walked into the middle of a heard (passel) of hogs. A wise man would have eased out. But I was in a bad mood. So I made sure a round was chamberd, the saftey was off and the scope was set at 2x. (kinda wished I had a 130 gr loaded). I got pretty close, maybe 15-20 feet when his head came up and he charged me. I shot striking him under the R eye (more luck then skill) and down he went. I looked down and the head wound was bleeding on my left boot. He was THAT CLOSE when I pulled the trigger. My mood always improves after I get to kill somthing up close and personal

Well if he goes after the rest of them I hope he wears some type of armor. At that range, and with that many pigs, they are likely to score a good run on him before he gets them all.LOL!!!

slap a grendel upper on a full auto lower. that might put a dent in the herd...sure would be fun to shoot.

It crossed my mind that I should have brought a AR Grendel- more quicker firepower as a saftey blanket. But, that shot hit maybe 1.5 inches lower than I woulld have liked-and if you think about it, even in low rings with a small scope the scope was probably mounted 1.5 inches above the rifle muzzle. So a AR mounting a scope 3 inches higher than the barrel would probably put the bullet about 3 inches low at point blank range-hittting him in the lip maybe. And boy, does my wife get mad when I have to go to the emergency room.
