First two whitetail deer
got our property in January 2021. I have put a good bit of work into as it hadnt been hunted in 5+ years. New 50 yard feeder placed in a little wash area in August of this year paid off well. Red neck pallet blind with some cheap woodland camp draped over it is placed up the hill and actually blends in really well with the cedars.
Grendel is a 16 AR I built and hand loads with 129SSTs.
I harvested a nice doe on the Saturday before Thanksgiving She came out 5 minutes after the feeder went off. Textbook shot and DRT. Heart and lungs were destroyed.

Literally 3 hours later my brother shot this beast, lone boar. Ive been after him for months. He used his 5.56 with 75GR gold dot hand loads. Great shot just below the ear, DRT only a one legged curly shuffle.

Then on Monday as we are packing up to leave, we check the original 200 Yard feeder doe at the feeder. Ran back to camp, grabbed the Grendel and took a standing shot leaning on the blind. She jumped and pivoted right as I shot. Shot hit behind the ribs then exited out the front shoulder. She ran 10 Yards then collapsed.

Lots of great meat in the freezer!
A big thank you to all the members on the forum. Learning bits and pieces from everyone on reloading, armoring, hunting practices, shot placement, bullet performance, etc. is greatly appreciated. Special shout out to DNS/CARPE SUS/Brian, hes the reason I picked the Grendel, found this forum, use the 129SS, and shoot sows first when they show up.
