Happens more often than reported or most would believe. Not all times does it even require shooting but when it does there are those that are ready to do what has to be done.

The video link made the point of noting that this even was not covered by the media. That is baloney. It was covered. It just wasn't that exciting of a news story to the general population. As such, you won't see a lot of these events in the media for a variety of reasons. Everybody will say it is anti-agenda-based, and while that may come into play to some extent, the media just doesn't do much with hero and feel good stories in general. Ever since at least the 1700s, the media has been driven by blood and drama. Hero stories (outside of sports) are typically not the big draw for news sales. Along similar lines, say a company opens up in Oklahoma City and hires 10,000 people. That will make local and regional news and will be in the business news and it might get some MSM mentions, but if that company fires 10,000 people, that will make local, regional, nation, business, and potentially international news.

Mass shootings tend to make national coverage more so than non-mass shootings. This was never a mass shooting and so it didn't make the coverage.

Of course, the NRA would not typically have considered this as a mass shooting even if there had been a higher body count and that is because this was not a PUBLIC mass shooting. The NRA typically does not consider private residence shootings and familial shootings with sufficient numbers of wounded or killed to be mass shootings if they don't happen in a public place.

This sort of event tends to be relegated to being local media coverage versus MSM.

Similarly, most mass shooting studies (like those of the FBI) focus only on public locations. Along further lines, most self defense classes and what not do not focus on this sort of shooting, either. They focus on things like public shooting scenarios, vehicle defense, and if they focus on home invasions, it is typically home invasions where somebody smashes in a door and you need to figure out how to react or somebody has snuck in your house in the middle of the night and you need to learn how to react. When was the last time any of y'all who attended such courses run the "Large dinner party at home when neighbor walks in and starts shooting" scenario?
