Good Evening to the Horde
I am joining you from the TRUE Northern California (>100 miles from Oregon).
Just getting into the Grendel playground with a new to me Howa Mini with a Leupold 2-7. Primary goal is a low recoil rifle for hunting to be used by my father after his back surgeries. This cartridge has caught my interest with being a low recoil version of one of my standards 6.5x55 Swede.

Well, I got out today with the Grendel. Up to the Hat Creek Rifle and Pistol Club near Fall River Mills. They have a 500 M silhouette range and can go to about 750 yards. After getting the scope on paper at 20 yds, I zeroed it at +1.5 at 100 yards. By then the wind had picked up enough to make shooting groups a futile endeavor. Using Hornady Black from the bench, I sighted in on the 500 M Ram. After the sighter, I went 4 for 4. Not quite as much bang/clang gap as my 40-65 BPCR Rifle but still a good clang. I did the same all the way back to the 200 M chicken. I am impressed with the clang I got at 300 M. This was all done at 7x with a Leupold VX-II 2-7. I know it is not the best scope for long range shooting, but will do my father just fine for hunting.

@just John, I am debating on Buying an upper, parts to convert an existing upper, or getting another Howa or Ruger Ranch. Each has its costs and benefits.
