I was checking pastures last night, and rode up on this female laying down about 60yds away. At first I thought it was a doe because the high humidity/mist made the image a little unclear. She didn't pay any attention to me and my 4 wheeler. But when she got up, relieved her bladder, and started slowly walking directly away from me, it was obvious it was a yote. So I'm scrambling to get on target. I had to "bark" twice to get her to turn broadside ?? She looked healthy. Maybe she was just sleepy? SST 123 entered right shoulder, exited behind left shoulder. DRT, she never even wiggled. That's one that won't get to eat a fawn this year. I'm watching every night. I saw a couple coyotes get a fawn last year, and was not able to intervene. Very upsetting.
