Dave, next batches of barrels are 6ARC 16" and 20", and 65G 14.5". They've been profiled and were simply waiting for fresh reamers from Manson, then nitriding. So, soon.

What profile did you settle on for the 16 ARC? A lightweight Hunting/Pencil profile I hope?
Something I would like to see changed is the length of the gas block seat area to 1.9 inches. And move the gas port out slightly so a typical ar15 polymer handguard can be used.
I'm working on a xm177 grendel clonish gun and really wanted to use my 12 inch barrel for it but sadly the gas block seat is to short and gas port to close the the shoulder for it to work.
Profiles for the 6As are the same as for the 65Gs. I'm happy that the profile is the best compromise for lightweight and accuracy, but because I leave extra "meat" around the chamber section for stiffness, safety, and handling, I'd say it ends up being a light-medium weight barrel. Definitely not a classic "pencil" barrel.
Have gone back and forth regarding the length of the gas block journal. Started at 1.9" to accomodate traditional A2 front sight towers (have now settled on 1.050), but soon realized I could shave weight because 99% of users were using low-profile, 1-inch long gas blocks (which is becoming the de facto industry standard) underneath free-float handguards. Then, in a move to make it easier to mount low-pro gas blocks, I moved the gas port .020 closer to the the gas block shoulder from the traditional .295 position so that gas blocks could have the added security and ease of positioning by butting up against the shoulder. Yes, and unfortunately, this doesn't leave room for a traditional handguard cap.

BFT, great to hear about the 14.5. Not a joke, right. I sooo have wanted you to do this, but had given up hope. Assuming it will be 16inch profile just shorter? same gas length?
