Hi y'all.
I just recently joined. I am looking to start reloading 6.5 Grendel. I have reloaded other ammo and have gathered all the dies and stuff to reload 6.5 Grendel. I am mostly here to find out what everyone is using for powder. It's the only component I haven't purchased yet because I need your experienced advice. What is everyone else using?

I am in Kansas. I am kinda new to 6.5 Grendel. I have been shooting Hornady ELD Match, which as we all know is expensive. Hence my reasoning to reload. I have a couple hundred rounds of Hornady 123 grain ELD bullets set aside. I have empty cases, primers, dies so I am ready to start reloading as soon as I can figure out what powder I need and hopefully be able to find it.

I built my own AR-15 with a 20 inch barrel. I need to practice more though. I don't think I have put 200 rounds through this rifle yet though. I really want to try some long range target shooting, just to see if I can. But there are no long ranges that I know of here in NE Kansas though. I am still trying to figure that part out yet.

Welcome to the forum Red Harrell! I have shot 120-125 grain bullets with CFE223 and a friend uses LeveRevolution, both of which produce good velocities in the 6.5 Grendel but are affected by temperature. AR Comp, H4895, IMR8208 and Benchmark are more temperature stable and are popular. Other popular powders are H335, TAC, Accurate 2230/Xterminator, Accurate 2520, Power Pro Varmint. Ive read Accurate 2460 is temperature stable powder which can be loaded into the 6.5 Grendel. Alliant has released Reloader 15.5 which is a temperature stable powder suitable for heavier 6.5 Grendel bullets.

Me too. It looks like I have a lot of options, but I still am having trouble finding suitable powder locally.
