In the next day or two Im planning to load up some of this combination for Grendel plinking rounds. My question is: whats the min and max on loads. The Hornady book suggests a 31.2 gr max and a 28 gr starting load with the H335. Thats considerably higher than the Hornady book suggests. Where have you fellows found good loads, and where do you place the max load, grainwise?

Need a few more details
603!
Respectfully, You quoted Hornady twice when I think you meant Hodgdon, at least once!
Just want to make sure, before I offer the wrong advice!
Gonna need the bullet weight before I can really zero in on some accurate information! Just saying
its all good, youre among friends!

I run 29.9g h-335 with the 95g v-max, might not be great in your gun but mine likes it. Hornady is a bit reserved on all their data compared to other sources. I usually start low and work up and most of the time if I'm using hornady info to start I end up beyond their max compared to say Hogdon data.

Yup, the Hodgdon was the higher max, at 31+. Hornady the lower, at less than 29 gr. As stated, the bullet weight is 95 grains. Id tend to trust the Hodgdon data, but its enough higher to give me pause. Thats a big diff for a small case.
Lapua brass. CCI 41 primers.

I see no signs of pressure at all running 29.9g 335 and that's beyond Hornady's max.

Youre correct, my apologies!
My inclination is to go with the lower data, especially with an AR platform and its lower rated PSI, and work up! YMMV.

2.245 is what Hornady list's in their book with the 95g vmax.

Only your barrel can answer that for you.

After doing a bit more internet searching, it appears that there must be an accuracy node with this bullet at about 30 gr of H335. As for COAL, I need to determine what the rifle will allow, but Im too busy with other stuff right now.

Load 5 @ 2.245 and see how they do.

Not the V-max but wtih a T-rex 95gr (LFP so a little different) I am arriving on a node around 29.7-30 most likely 29.9. I saw pressure signs way before Hodgdon data max.

Monoliths build pressure much faster than cup and core bullets, so expect to see maximums before book data for other bullets.
Monoliths generally dont like being forced into the rifling, and resist that process due to their construction.
Thin copper jacketed-bullets with lead cores are very soft, and drive into the rifling with much more ease.
Hodgdons has never published data for the 95gr T-Rex.

Understood and that is why I shared the bullet being used. I looked at many sources before developing my load and hodgdon is way above other sources in charge and velocity for 95grain projectiles. I have had good luck with Hodgon data in the past but always reference several sources.
