Maybe you could ask them to test fire it and check the brass? But it seems like they should be fully replacing this barrel.

That brass is not normal in any way and I wouldn't even reload it for safety concerns.

They offered to replace any of the initial Group Buy barrels we did if people were not happy with them, and followed-through with that promise.

Called them just now, spoke with Carson. He said yes the chamber is on the larger side but he would not call it out of spec. I told him again that I did not trust it and would not feel good about selling it being like it is. He said it’s not enough there to warrant them replacing the barrel. I said all I ask is for you to do what you think is right. I guess he doesn’t have any trouble sleeping. He said he will ship it out this evening. Probably a needle in a hay stack I found but this was my experience with them and it’s been pitiful. For sure there will not be any more lilja barrels at my house. And it’s for sale only in this post since you guys know the whole story and might want to take a chance with it but I’m not.

Well, there you go: asked and answered. Now you know. If it were me, I'd sell it on the exchange with full disclosure. Afterall, it would appear many folks here still seem to respect the brand despite your experience. And hey, this is a factory inspected and approved barrel now.

No no, it just means the gas cycle speed is too fast. Their gas port and location or chamber dimensions or cut or whatever being wrong has nothing to do with that of course. And running premium brass that does this stuff apparently now is super totally fine - no problem, and the issue is clearly all on you.

I would send a copy of a link of this thread to Carson. I had an out of spec issue with my Lilja 6 ARC barrel (gas block section too big), but it didn't have a safety issue and I decided to accept it rather than send it back. Glad I didn't waste my time. I'm in the market for a long .223 bull and crossed an AR 740 off my list:

"These barrels are a true match-grade barrel, we only have one grade for all of our barrels, our best."

If that their best, .......
