This may not be my smallest 5 shot group ever, but it could be my favorite. Houston, we have a zero. Second pic is layed over a clean target with the aiming point.
StoneHendge... Mine is home made from brass tubes I got at a local hobby shop. My original was 30" long for loading black powder cartridges (cut in half now). 1F, 2F or cartridge grade black powder is pretty chunky stuff. Brass for today's BP cartridges is a lot thicker than the original cases from the late 1800's. To get the amount of powder used in the old days is near impossible. To get close to those charges now days you need a drop tube to get as much powder into the case as possible. I've often used my shortened tube when loading extruded powders in small cases.

Hornady max for Varget is 28.9. I loaded up 15 rounds with 25.7 to 28.5 gr of SWP in 0.2 gr increments. 28.5 was just above the brass' neck shoulder junction on pouring and just below the junction with 10 taps on the bench. Yes it's compressed, but there isn't a crunch. I used different aiming points for the first, mid and last 5. With Magnetto strapped on, no group was under MOA and the last 4 made a ragged hole with velocities at:
28.1:2417;
28.3:2424;
28.5:2432.
So were looking at:

I checked AA data for Varget and youre dead-on with that from a 24 barrel shooting the 123gr Scenar.
AA shows 2400fps with 28.5gr of Varget under 123gr Scenar and SMK.
That powder might do really well in 6mm AR I think.
Looks like a true precision powder in Grendel, albeit somewhat slow.
