The savage 110 tactical 6mm arc from centerfire the description says it has a 12 rd mag, i looked the upc up at another dealer says its a 12 rd magpul AICS mags, curious to know it that is accurate and if the bottom meatal is really metal or polymer. This would be a good option if the mags really do work and has real bottom metal just change out the barrel and easy grendal swap, along with stock options

I checked Brownell’s and appears they don’t carry the Savage in 6 mm ARC. I did watch a couple videos on youtube and it looks like the Savage 110 Tactical use a metal bottom metal. One video showed a new 22” 6 mm ARC 110 switch back which used a three round detachable metal magazine.

The switchback model is store-specific to Sportsmans outdoor.
Same look as accufit for stock but it's not, doesn't have the cheek-riser ability.
It is a 22" barrel threaded however.

the magazines meant for standard length short action cartridges bug me, always hated them in the Tikka's which are to fit long action cartridges! so I alleviated that by shooting a .270 win but in my Tikka .204 rugers and the varmint with the longer 6 round mags...just seemed so wrong

I can handle full length actions with bolt stops at the right spot and proper sized magazines but not both, if I'm gonna shoot a .308 length cartridge it will be the 6.5 Creedmoor all day long, if I'm gonna shoot an AR length cartridge...it's gonna be with an AR length magazine

you crazy buggers that will shoot those full size aics mags with these little cartridges have a wire crossed in your brains

I'd convert any Howa to the cz bottom
problem with converting is moving to chassis style systems, what's the chassis inlet for?
At least with the ruger I can get the mdt chassis with ar inlet so that's what I run now and have 10 round mags

builders of these 6mm ARC and 6.5 Grendel rifles need to pick a popular magazine system that fits properly...the Howa 5 round mag is the size of the AR 10 round mag...what a joke Howa, gross. Anyway, these are short stubbies and need things to be right for feed/eject etc.

looks like these new savage have some feeding ejecting issues by the first couple vids I just watched...next

so far of all the options to get this right I'm about the ruger/ar combo, if you stay factory stock you can convert to mini-30 mags...downside that release lever hanging down instead of the button of the ar mags tucked up tight

watching how cz does with the new 600 model will be one to watch for another platform with proper magazines also, that trail with the 7.62x39 looks to be there already but I don't like the trail model for the rear butt stock so far, cheek piece in wrong location, so if they can get that mag over to the other 600 models...could be a winner and chassis guys like mdt may inlet one day for even bigger wins

end of the day the popularity of the 6mm Arc is going to propel the market to bring out more proper sized options from the manufacturers, I wish it was the Grendel but the 6mm is the side the target guys like best so will just be thankful that more options will be coming because of that, good for savage getting started, now need to see browning, and some euro's get in the game also, ruger is in the game for grenades but not in the m77 lineup, hope that changes as well

Would a Remington model 7 receiver work for a grendel build? Defiance has a action length based on the model 7, I know it’s shorter, just not sure if that’s enough?

Why not just move it back, to where the bolt clears it? It’s a cheap stock, who cares if you drill two more little holes in it? The rest should cover up them up anyway?

I feel like I would be admitting something, like I made a mistake, or failure or something. I'll just keep bumping along like it is fine. =)

I have several posts on old threads here about the RAP. Again...everything you, (the OP), said but there are "fixes" to the feeding, stocks, etc.
Just putting epoxy puddy in the barrel channel and making sure its free-floating the barrel all the way to the lug made a huge difference in the mine's accuracy. (stock stiffening). I also had to add weight to the rear to make it balanced. This made an already heavy gun heavier so it's not used to walk through the woods and fields. Mine cycles 100% using various magazines. (switching OEM stocks then modifying). I also played with the action screw torque settings which helped accuracy AND feeding. Medium rings did the trick for my scope. (Vortex HD). Added a cheek rest for comfort and shoot it under 1" at 300 yds a majority of the time. Farthest at 500+ under 2". (my reloads).
Would I give it two thumbs up?? Nope! Too many things that have to be done to it out of the box PLUS a lot of rounds to finish out the barrel on mine. But if you are "handy" so to speak and without a lot of money, it can be a real tack driver in Grendel. Just out of the box, there are better options for not too much more money.

Is Jefferson still making them? They are OOS and no reply to may email on weather they will make more? I still don't think we have the best build options yet for a bolt Grendel yet, your either limited by stock options or mags or both in CZ. Howa. The CZ conversion is a great option for the Howa, not familiar with Pendelton to see how they compare to other makers. B/C, Pendelton, Oryx are what I have seen , the Orxy uses the factory mag, I'm curious to see the new savage 6mm arc and what size action it is and what mags they are using to see how they may be used in the Grendel build process or what options it opens up.

well folks I see mkm machine may be tooling up to build better Howa magazines, following them on instagram, looks like they have lots of requests for the Grendels, I definitely gave them my two cents, maybe go give your two cents there and check it out

I contacted MTM and they said ounce they get some test rifles in they will be doing howa mini 10 rnd. Keep pushing boys. It's working.

nice work, it's funny this angle wasn't thought of by the aftermarket sooner, can't wait to see how that goes, I'll likely get back in the game and finish the one Howa action sitting in the safe due to this development if it works out, so yes folks with Howa's go express your support for a better feeding 10 round that won't tip the rounds down after the shot!

Well, the last thing you’d want to do is remove the action from the stock. Unless you’ve bedded the action, then it would only be slightly more desirable option. Would be much better to just remove cheekpiece, to get access to the bolt.
