Hi Guys.
The 6,5 Grendel barrel seems to be end life after 6000+ rounds.
After I build a 6mmAR T40 imp which has such a superior ballistic compared to the 6.5 Grendel I'm done with the 6.5 Grendel in the AR15.
One of the main reason is the limited choice of light weight 6.5 bullets.
Now I want something different to build with that rifles. My ideas are 6mm Grendel with 12" twist or 22 Grendel with 9" twist barrel for short to medium range. For Long Range we have the 6mmAR T40.
What are the pros and cons of 22 vs 6mm Grendel?
Which does matters for me, accuracy, recoil and barrel life.
Hope you can help me.

No a 6mm Grendel isn't a 6 ARC but a 6mmAR!
ARC is a bit shorter because the 6mmAR is protected by Robert Whitley.
I will not buy his stuff but we are planning our own 6-6.5 Grendel with 12" twist and throats for 65-85gr bullets.
Did some research on availability of bullets on that weight range for 22 and 6mm.
Now I'm pretty sure 6mm will be the better solution for our requirements.

ARC is a bit shorter because the 6mmAR is protected by Robert Whitley.
I will not buy his stuff but we are planning our own "6mm Grendel" (6-6.5 Grendel) with 12" twist and throats for 65-85gr bullets. We will change some measures a bit and will be on the safe side.

In fact the idea is to get a 6 PPC like shooter in a AR15.
Of course I need more case capacity to get the same muzzle velocity with less pressure in a AR15.

Where are you finding a 6mm AR/Grendel barrel? I purchased one from X-Caliber a few years ago (which I am very pleased with), now they tell me that they can't provide that chambering. I was hoping to find a 20" 1:7 H-Bar to shoot 1000 yard AR Tactical. I'm not impressed with their response. I have zero interest in the ARC in that I have developed a very good load for the AR and my 28" barrel performs exceedingly well.

That sucks.Columbia River Arms quit making them too.

anyone care to post what they get for velocities with a 75 gr bullet out of the 6mm Grendel/264LBC ? Also let us know length of barrel for your velocities.

I purchased a 6mm Grendel from McGowan, 16 week delivery kind of sucks though.
