Hi all, new to the caliber but highly interested to use on the short stock AR platform for my kids (and me) to hunt with with occasional plink at longer ranges. Looking forward to learning.

Currently in the market for a complete upper to scratch that itch!

Welcome to the forum. Some may chunk bricks at me for suggesting it, but Bear Creek Arsenal should be able to scratch that itch for you! I've had good success with both my BCA uppers.

Welcome to the clan, DC from another loyal Texian! Just remember, you have to learn the Grendel before yo can teach your kids. In case you haven't picked ot up across these threads, the Grendel is a very promiscious device and tends to propogate when left alone in dark places.
