Norma #510 bullets

Mornin everyone,

Question; Anyone ever use this bullet? (Norma #510 77g semi Pointed softpoints.)

Not really worried on data and We will do expansion tests probably next spring. But hoping for some preliminary info on the bullet from someone who have used them.

I shoot a fair amount 85,s and do like them. Probably a Coyote bullet but sho knows.

What cartridge was they designed for?

Velocity range of the bullet.

I use a free web hosting site to post my pictures (Flickr, Imgur, Postit are examples). The forum limits the size of your photos but you can upload directly from your computer, lap top, tablet or smart phone.

How to post pictures
1. Go to the lower right corner of the "Quick Reply" section and click on the "Go Advanced" box.

2. In the next screen, below the "Your Message" section and in the "Additional Options" section click the "Manage Attachments" box.

3. In the new window that opens up click the "Add Files" box, and when that pops up another little window click the "Select Files" box. Go find the file(s) on your computer, click on them, and choose "Open." You should see your file(s) in the little window so click "Upload Files."

4. This brings you back to the main File Upload Manager window, and your file(s) should appear down in the Attachments area. Click "Done."

5. This brings you back to the "Additional Options" section and you should see your image file(s) under the "Manage Attachments" box. You can now either "Submit Reply" or "Preview Post."

Note: Make sure your picture is a standard picture file format is not sized too big.

the norma #510 is a old bullet, atleast in sweden it stopped beeing sold in the 80's.
Its was marketed as a "roe deer" bullet for the 6.5x55, loaded to around 2600 FPS/800MPS.

This bullet is a nice pairing for a grendel, atleast for Roe deer (50kg) and down animals - reaching 2600 fps in the grendel is not difficult at all.

It appears sometimes on sales here in sweden when old fellas die off, and their children sell of stuff to stores or on internet.
but nothing new is made afaik.

I just used QL to determine IMR4198 data for this 77gr Norma bullet. Please verify before you load and shoot this load (if you can even find these bullets).

COAL: 2.040", bullet length .720".

I adapted the Norma 80gr FMJ RN profile to the 77gr PSP bullet specs. 28gr of 4198 seems to fill 97.5% of the case, produces ~50K psi, and might get me near 3100fps with my 22" bbl.
