New to 6.5 grendel, build recommendations please

I am new to the 6.5 grendel world. I am looking to build a 20". What have you had success with as far as barrel and bolt combinations?

1) Purpose/primary use - hunting, precision/target, general purpose
2) Desired shooting distance(s)
3) Budget for build
4) Timeframe for completion - market conditions may impact availability so might need to be flexible on components if want to have it completed quickly

The 20" Shilen from MidwayUSA has worked well for me. Match barrel and somewhat heavy, no muzzle brake, rile length gas. 3/4 MOA with handloads. Cleans easily.

I’ve got the same Shilen barrel from Midway and it is my best shooter but it is a 1:9 twist I bought in 2010. Lilja, JP, Criterion, Odin get good reviews. I have Faxon 16” & 18” Group Buy barrels I like. The problem now is finding a 6.5 Grendel barrel but the high end barrels are worth the wait.

Believe it or not, I've had good luck with my 20" bear creek barrel and bolt. If you are looking for a bit of a step up I'm a big fan or aero precision. They have great stuff!

Alexander Arms in 1/9 twist, if 20"; is what worked best for me.

I know this isn't the classifieds, but I have and extra AA 20" upper to get rid of. Its a dream out to 900yards.

I think your budget is the biggest question. If you can afford a barrel from Krieger, Bartlein, Lilja, Precision Firearms, JP, etc. you will definitely get a top-tier shooter.

I'm perfectly content with my much less costly Alexander Arms 18" barrel, which is a 1~1.5 MOA shooter with most factory ammo. Ringing steel at 600 yards is effortless, and the fluted profile keeps it super handy for hunting use. If you can find an AA or SixFiveArms barrel available somewhere, you won't be disappointed.
