I have a Howa 1500 in 6.5 Grendel with a detachable box magazine and have had nothing but issue after issue with the magazine falling out due to the placement of the magazine release. I have installed the flush mount upgrade and still same issue. Does anyone have any info on converting this to a hinged floorplate and if so where can find this conversion kit and what all is needed. Last thing I want to have happen is walk through the woods to my stand and the magazine fall out somewhere along the way. Thanks for any assistance in advance.

Jefferson Outdoors - Hokey Pokey Kid - is a member of this forum and used to make them. I have one of his, and it works perfectly. However, they are no longer on his website. Not sure what the deal is; maybe he will comment.
Good luck, because your fear of it dropping is valid. It happened to me a few hunting season ago while shooting at a coyote even with the DIP bottom metal and their mag release. Terrible design.

Hokey Pokey Kid is probably working on his new Howa bottom metal that takes CZ Grendel mags.

I am working on my new CZ bottom metal in addition to another prototype project as well. I suspended production due to difficulty obtaining enough magazine springs for my flush bottom metal.
When people email asking about availablity, I direct them to Oregunsmithing as a viable alternative.
